Reflections for Corporal Eric E. Sutphin

We here at the Canon City Internet Radio, send our deepest condolences and our prayers to the wife, daughters, loved ones, and sisters and brothers who wear the badge of law enforcement. It is hard to comprehend that Corporal Sutphin was shot down in such a cowardly act. There isn't enough words for comfort at this great loss.
"A Part Of America Died,"
Somebody killed a policeman today,
And part of America died.
A piece of our country he swore to protect,
Will be buried with him at his side.
The suspect that shot him will stand up in court,
With counsel demanding his rights.
While a young widowed mother must work for her kids,
And spend many long lonely nights.
The beat he walked was a battle field too
just as if he had gone off to war.
Though the flag of our nation won't fly at half mast,
To his name they will add a gold star.
Yes, somebody killed a policeman today,
In your town or mine,
While we slept in comfort behind locked doors,
A cop put his life on the line.
Now his ghost walks a beat on a dark city street,
And stands at each new rookies' side.
He answered the call,of himself and gave his all,
And a part of America died.

Coorporal Sutphin you will always be an American Hero you gave your all.

You, Sir, are what being an American is all about. From the troops on two different war fronts to the Law Enforcers stateside tasked with holding the thin blue line, we do all that we can to secure America's freedom. And today, Sir, you went into battle to seek out the enemy who killed one of our own, and in doing so you gave your own life. I have never met you, but I am truly honored reading your story. God bless you, Sir, and please know I will pray for your family during their time of loss and need. I truly believe we will all meet in God's Heaven one day and will embrace each other as only brothers could understand. To your friends and family I will pray for you and cry with you, even from afar. Matthew 5:9 Blessed are the peacemakers, for they are truly the children of God.

To Mrs. Sutphin and daughters-
There are no words to take away your pain, but please know that your sadness is being shared by many in your extended "law enforcement family". Your husband was clearly a dedicated public hero and his sacrifice and service will not be forgotten.

My daughters and I will pray for peace and comfort for your entire family.

Corporal Sutphin,
I read the details of your incident here in Michigan as your story has made national headlines. I am so deeply saddened by your loss. I pray for your loved ones...both your immediate family and your police family. I'm sure that everyone thought you were "safe" given you had already been injured in the line of duty just 3 years ago. Thank you for choosing and continuing to serve and protect. I am humbled by your sacrifice.

You are a true HERO in every sense of the word.
