My heartfelt condolences to your loving family. I can't even begin to tell you how sorry we are for your loss. Words just can't ever express the grief we all share. But one thing I know for sure is your husband,father,co-worker now patrols even bigger and safer streets, those in heaven with so many other fallen officers who make such a big huge loving family. My husband died in Sept. of 2005 it will be one year soon, and how I wish I could tell you it gets easier but take heart and know that Christopher will be with you in spirit for all time. We now join a family also of lost loved ones and we form a special bond with one another that no one can ever break. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. God Speed Christopher....and if you see Ray in heaven will you say hello to him from us and tell him we miss him and love him very much and are very proud of him as you must be of Christopher....God Bless You....Love, Christy Rios and Children.

Mrs. Metternich,
As someone who lost a husband in the line of duty, last year, I know only too well what you are going through at this very moment. It took me a while to get up the courage to come to this site and look through the reflections left for us. When the time comes, as it one day will for you, you too will be able to sit down and read all the wonderful and loving messages left by your friends, family and community. You will come to know that your husbands passing has affected so many across this nation. As I'm sure you are well aware, officers have a bond with each other, near and far. No matter the color of their uniform, the State or the agency they work for, when one falls, we all feel it. When you marry into that family, you become a part of the biggest family ever known to man. That family is here for you, for anything you may need. We grieve with you. We pray for you and your family, and we support you, always.
For all those times you stood by me
For all the truth that you made me see
For all the joy you brought to my life
For all the wrong that you made right
For every dream you made come true
For all the love I found in you
I'll be forever thankful baby
You're the one who held me up
Never let me fall
You're the one who saw me through through it all
You were my strength when I was weak
You were my voice when I couldn't speak
You were my eyes when I couldn't see
You saw the best there was in me
Lifted me up when I couldn't reach
You gave me faith 'coz you believed
I'm everything I am
Because you loved me
You gave me wings and made me fly
You touched my hand I could touch the sky
I lost my faith, you gave it back to me
You said no star was out of reach
You stood by me and I stood tall
I had your love I had it all
I'm grateful for each day you gave me
Maybe I don't know that much
But I know this much is true
I was blessed because I was loved by you
You were my strength when I was weak
You were my voice when I couldn't speak
You were my eyes when I couldn't see
You saw the best there was in me
Lifted me up when I couldn't reach
You gave me faith 'coz you believed
I'm everything I am
Because you loved me
You were always there for me
The tender wind that carried me
A light in the dark shining your love into my life
You've been my inspiration
Through the lies you were the truth
My world is a better place because of you
You were my strength when I was weak
You were my voice when I couldn't speak
You were my eyes when I couldn't see
You saw the best there was in me
Lifted me up when I couldn't reach
You gave me faith 'coz you believed
I'm everything I am
Because you loved me
I'm everything I am
Because you loved me
