Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Inspector Kieran Tyon Shields

An Angel in the sky must leave his place of rest.
Gently tucking his wings beneath his armored vest.
For duty has called, there is much work to do.
Little did he know, this one is dressed in blue.

Arriving on scene, he knew just what to say.
"Follow me fallen brother, Ill show you the way".
Your duty has ended, your work is now through.
Come hang your hat beside mine,
I was a cop too.

Rest in Peace brother.

Warrior's Last Prayer

. . . Father
. I hear singing
. what does it mean?
They are praying for you.
. But I am not dead.
No . . . You are not dead.
. My friends
. some were hurt.
They will be all right.
. But I feel all right too
. I do not hurt any more
. why can't I move?
. why can't I see clearly?
You will see clearly, My son.
. my family
. I love them, Father
. will they understand?

With heavy hearts . . . they will understand.
. mom
. dad
. will they be all right?
I will give them peace.
. the singing, Father
. it's farther away now.
Listen as they pray more sweetly . . .
. are they praying for my friends?

For them
. and for you.
. will we be together again?
Forever . . . and ever
Father . . .
. they have stopped singing
. what does it mean?
Rest now
. My good and faithful servant
. and forever more
. Welcome into My home.

My deepest sympathy to your family and close friends. I know the pain they feel in their hearts and what they will feel in the future once the shock of this incident wears off. There are no magic words I can offer except they can only take one day at a time and to keep your memory alive, excpecially for your youngest daughter who is only 4 months old. You are a true Hero and Heroes never die. You will never be forgotten by your loved ones nor will the Blue Family ever let you be forgotten. Keep watch over your loved ones and those still out patrol guarding the Thin Blue Line.

Detective Shields. Even your name suggested the line of work that you were destined for. God speed, warrior. There is a 'special' place for those that willingly assault and kill a peace officer. May your family know that you are a hero, that you are now with over 17,000 other heroes, and that your death was not in vain. Simply look at how many reflections were left and one knows instantly how special you were in such a short time on this earth. May God hold you and yours in his palm and comfort those you leave behind.

You stood for bravery and compassion. May your new home in heaven grant you peace and rest. This earth will never be peaceful, unfortunately. Although you leave us on earth, may you continue your duties in heaven and watch over all law enforcement officers. Thank you for your loyalty. God bless you and keep you.
