Reflections for Deputy Sheriff David Stan Piquette
It is completely unfortunate and horrible that the California Supreme Court of Appeal actually overturned your killer's conviction!! He will be re-tried in Orange County and hopefully, will be convicted again!!

Hi Dave, Today I am visiting Lisa's kids, to babysit them while Lisa and Bill are at Notre Dame for Leah's confirmation. We all miss you so much Dave. Not a day goes by that we don't think about you. All your friends tell me how much they miss you. The different police officers tell us how lucky you are to have such a nice memorial. We change your flowers every weekend.
Love and miss you a lot,
Mom

Sorry I missed your EOW date. I'm stopping in now to leave a short reflection to know that you will never be forgotten by those that love you dearly. You are forever in their hearts and those special memories they have of you will live forever.
"Loving memories we will never forget,
Sadly missed along life's way,
With silent thought and deep regret,
We think of you every day,
No longer in our life to share,
But in our hearts he's always there.

Thinking of you and all of your loved ones today. I know there has not been a day since your were called away that they did not have thoughts about you. Continue to keep watch over all of them. This is for your Mom for I know the struggle she faces every day as I walk in her shoes:
"The sense of loss does not diminish with time. In truth, the expression 'time heals all wounds' is a myth. For parents, the loss of a child is permanent and mental scar tissue really does not grow over the grim memory. Rather, all tears are expended and a dull ache remains."

Hi David, your two babies are here with Lisa's family for Liam's first Communion. You spirit is here, though you may not be here in person. Leah had prom last night with her boyfriend. My sons play on the same team with your son who is now 8 years old. He is a really good boy and your wife is a beautiful and strong human being. As a father, being around your family so much reminds me of how fortunate I am to have a great family and not to take any day of it for granted. Thank you for your service.

Shawna's beloved David and Justin's and Jordans beloved daddy was killed on this day five years ago today. Three years ago today justice was served, Cole Wilkins was charged with first degree murder. Shawna and the twins lives are forever changed. No Husband, no daddy. I know that David and God are watching over his little family. Thankyou everyone for writting on David's reflection. On this day when you were transferred to duty to serve the Most Supreme Commander, God himself, I was enroute to Arizona with the National Guard to assist U.S. Border Patrol when i found out what happened with you. You were an awesome MARINE and I have no doubt that you took what you learned in the Corps with you to the Sheriffs Dept. As I remember you today ,the anniversary of your departure, I look back at the short time we knew each other on the Roosevelt and feel greatful to have known you. I pray that your family is being comforted by Our Heavenly Father everyday of their lives. As A Marine & Deputy Sheriff you served as an Angel here on earth and I have no doubt that you continue to be an Angel from Heaven to those you protected and still protect here on earth. The last line of the Marine Hymn states, " If the Army and the Navy ever looked on Heaven's scenes, they will find the streets are guarded by United States Marines". I know that you are still on duty holding down the Fort. SEMPER FIDELIS my friend.
