Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Special Agent William "Buddy" Sentner, III

May you rest in Peace, Blue Angel.

Lake County Sheriff's Office, Florida

June 22, 2006

I am sitting here crying while I read what happened to Special Agent William Sentner. It is hard for me to comprehend that a fellow officer could shoot another officer down in such a cowardly way. That person will meet his judgement by a higher power. The staff and members of the Chauffeur Internet Radio are sending our deepest sympathys and all of our prayers to the wife, family, friends and his TRUE brothers and sisters who wear the badge of law enforcement. Why is there always a few that are bad apples (no matter where you go or do) that spoil the good..... You look up to and know that the ones that wear the badge of law enforcement are here to protect and serve us, and they do it without any praise. WE will keep you in our prayers. GOD BLESS YOU ALL
Our Greatest Fear
Yet once again the Thin Blue Line is diminished,
an officers final tour of duty is finished.
"Officer down", its our greatest fear,
and once again, I hold back a tear.
They patrol in the state, city, county and town,
in uniforms colored white, green, blue and brown.
The shape of their badges may vary,
but its a symbol that they all, proudly carry.
They leave for work with a kiss goodbye,
but some dont come home, no matter how hard they try.
To uphold the law is the job that they pick,
with such high aspirations, why must some die so quick?
They leave behind loved ones, family and friends,
after their lives have met tragic ends.
Some die in crashes, others hearts not too stout,
to many have been lost when gunshots ring out.
Our Heavenly Father has called them home,
no more these dark streets do they roam.
Through trial and error they have given their best,
please Lord, now grant them eternal rest.
Yet once again the Thin Blue Line is diminished,
an officers final tour of duty is finished.
"Officer down", its our greatest fear,
and once again I hold back a tear.

My heart breaks for your family, friends & co-workers. When you walked onto the prison grounds yesterday one would have hoped you would have to worry more about the inmates than the "wolf hiding in the sheepdogs coat". Thanks for your service to our country both with the Office of Inspector General and Secret Service. I'm so sorry you had to sacrifice your life because of "dirty guards" - it seems even worse that your life was taken by someone sworn to protect all of us by guarding the criminals. May God wrap his loving arms around your family and carry them through the difficult days ahead.

To the family and friends and S.A. Sentner -

The thought of not going home at the end of your tour is a possibility we all know we face each day we put on our uniform. However, this seems especially heinous given the circumstances. Please know that you are all in our thoughts and our prayers. There is nothing that can be said that will ever make anyone understand how or why this happened.

S.A. Sentner - We can only ever thank you enough by never forgetting what you did for us.

You have entered through the narrow gate....enjoy the streets of Heaven. They were made for you.

That the shameful acts of a few should lead to the death of a good man is tragic. We draw strength from your service and sacrifice Brother William, we know that you fought the good fight against the enemies who hid in the most disturbing of places- pretending to be our brothers. You will be remembered for your devotion to what was right and courage in the face of this truly heroic task. May you rest in peace and honored glory.
