I was a tractor show in Terrell Texas yesterday, and there was a liberty bell that rang on occasion for this officer.A large banner with Constable Geddie's name was draped across the front of the platform where the bell was placed to honor this fine man.
My mother grew up in Smith county(Flint)Texas,I remember walking those great sizzling old blacktop roads in the summer..roots run deep there.
Especially in law enforcement.
Someday we will all meet on that sunrise highway..until then..

To the family of Dale Geddie,
As you grieve over the loss of Dale, I hope the following words may ease your pain.
For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.

Dale was a great person, friend and officer. He was never hesitant to speak up and respond to a call for service. He obtained his goal in making such a difference in his precinct and in Smith County all together. His smile, laughter and dedication will always be remembered. I only had the pleasure of knowing and working with this wonderful man for about two years, but he will ALWAYS be in my heart and memories. Rest in peace in God's house.

Constable Geddie,
When I came to your page, the very first thought I had was what a huge wonderful smile you have. This photo seems to tell a story of a vibrant funloving man who chose a noble career. A man who sacrificed himself to save others. My second thought went out to your immediate family and to your police family. Oh how they will surely miss your smile, your laughter and just plain ol' miss YOU!
On behalf of the Sterling Heights Police Department, please accept our heartfelt condolences. We know all too well the grief your are enduring. You will get through this together. Honor Constable Geddie with your stories of him and with your own laughter. It will come...I promise you that.

To the family of Constable Geddie-
My heart is heavy for you in your time of loss. You can see in his eyes and smile how much he loved you, life, and his job. Knowing his involvement with the law, I know he was passionate about what he came to do everyday when he came to work- to serve and protect the citizens of Smith County. This is something many of us do not understand, but all that wear a badge proudly come risking thier lives. My husband and lost our best friend Trey Hutchison with the Bossier City Police Department 2 years ago in August. It was the darkests day we had to endure. You have a long road ahead of you. There is a light at the end of this dark tunnel. And you have to smile and celebrate your time with him. Each of you will be in my prayers and I pray that each day will be better than the day before.

We are so sorry to here about your tragic loss of a loved one in law enforcement. Our thoughts and prayers go out to you in support. As we personally know, sometimes there is little comfort that comes from words. Keep focused as you can on the memories and joyous times for these things may bring you comfort. Rely heavily on family, friends, and other law enforcement. Honor your fallen loved one, for their sacrifice will not be forgotten.
