I worked with Dale as Deputy Sheriff in Smith County. Although I am now many miles and years away, my memories of Dale include professionalism, kindness and integrity.
My sincerest prayers are on behalf of Dale's wife and family. May you find purpose for your loss in God's sovereignty, and look forward to seeing Dale again in heaven.

Dear bros and friends!
Even though I live and work on the other part of the world ( Europe ), I had a privilege to live and work with some of the US law enforcement officers for 18 month in un mission on Kosovo. ( One of them is Pat JORDAN from TX, a good friend of brother Dale...)
At that time I found out that we all ( L.E. officers ), no matter where we come from, share the same lifestyle. We are all ready to give our lives for saving some other s...
Well I hope Dale will rest in peace and we meet him again in some other more peacfull and friendly place...

I never had the honor or the privledge to meet with Constable Geddie, but as I read the reflections of all of his friends, co-workers and even the people he served it is evident that on June 7, 2006 the State lost one of it's best.
My prayers and condolances go out to Constable Geddie's family and all of the people who knew and loved him.

D.D., I'm going to miss you so much. You were exactly how Kenny Ray described you. . . "a cop's cop". My heart is heavy because I have to tell you "bye", for now, but I'm looking forward to seeing that big, ol' grin again one day. Smith County will never been the same and there'll always be a hole in the place you used to fill. Rest in peace, friend.

The policeman stood and faced God,
Which must always come to pass.
He hoped his shoes were shining,
Just as brightly as his brass.
"Step forward now, policeman.
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To my church have you been true?"
The policeman squared his shoulders and said,
"No lord, I guess I ain't,
Because those of us who carry a badge
can't always be a saint."
I've had to work most Sundays,
and at times my talk was rough,
and sometimes I've been violent,
Because the streets are awfully tough.
But I never took a penny,
That wasn't mine to keep
Though I worked a lot of overtime
When the bills got just too steep.
And I never passed a cry for help,
Though at time I shook with fear.
And sometimes, God forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.
I know I don't deserve a place
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around
Except to calm their fear.
If you've a place for me here, Lord,
It needn't be so grand.
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don't I'll understand.
There was a silence all around the throne
Where the saints had often trod.
As the policeman waited quietly,
For the judgement of his god.
"Step forward now, policeman,
You've born your burdens well.
Come walk a beat on Heaven's streets,
You've done your time in hell"
