Reflections for Constable Dale David Geddie
"DD", how we miss you already. While working with you, you taught me not to worry so much about things. You always told me that life was too short. How well I have come to know this now. I will never forget our last conversation and how you laughed so hard at what I said. I along with so many, will miss you so deeply. So long my friend. Go walk your beat on heavens street. Your family is now surrounded with all our love. #509

We are saddened once again with the sad news of another hero taken from us. It is a great loss for the family and department during this crisis. We might not know the right words to say, or even know how to say them, but we can pray for your family and friends. May the Lord give them strength through this time.

I did several stories with Dale in the short time he was in office as constable. I'll never forget the winks and grins during Smith County commissioners court meetings. He was one of the nicest guys I've met working in television news. He was always accomodating, friendly and helpful; just someone you felt good to be around. You could tell he was at peace with himself and everyone around him. He was never proud or boastful, just a humble servant of man. He will be sorely missed by the community he served. My heart goes out to the Geddie family as I keep you in my prayers.

To the Family and all those who knew Constable Dale Geddie,
Words cannot express our condolences in the passing of such great a public servant. However, we know that God has Dale already busy in His eternal service in heaven.
I watched with tears some of the comments given on the news last evening concerning the unselfish and Godly life of Constable Dale Geddie. He will truly be missed here, but his eternal life is secure in the arms of Jesus Christ.
Our heartfelt thoughts and certainly our prayers go out to all of you.

Dale typified an East Texas Gentleman. His career as a Peace Officer was not just a job, but a calling. He was truly interested in people. His love for people was evidenced in the fact that once he met you, he never forgot your name.

I had the pleasure of working with Dale for a number of years while we were both at the Smith County Sheriff's Department. I was always impressed with his kindness and compassion. He was a good officer; but even more important, he was a good man. He was my friend and I will miss him. God bless his family and fellow officers.

To the Dale Geddie family: His office may eventually be filled, but his shoes NEVER will. He is now in a place where the view is perfect to watch over his family, friends, and constituent's. Our loss is Heaven's gain. A man of true integrety and loyalty, Dale--we will forever miss you. The Tony and Toni Quezada family.

Though I did not know Constable Geddie, a loss of a TX officer still affects me and those of us who are Texans at heart. Thank you for your service and protection.
To the family, friends, and officers that knew Constable Geddie, my thoughts and prayers are with you as you face the trying times ahead of you. Please know your not alone.
Then the rainstorm came, over me
And I felt my spirit break
I had lost all of my, belief you see
And realized my mistake
But time through a prayer, to me
And all around me became still
I need love, love's divine
Please forgive me now I see that I've been blind
Give me love, love is what I need to help me know my name
Through the rainstorm came sanctuary
And I felt my spirit fly
I had found all of my reality
I realize what it takes
'Cause I need love, love's divine
Please forgive me now I see that I've been blind
Give me love, love is what I need to help me know my name
Oh I, don't bet (don't bend), don't break (don't break)
Show me how to live and promise me you won't forsake
'Cause love can help me know my name
Well I try to say there's nothing wrong
But inside I felt me lying all along
But the message here was plain to see
Believe me
'Cause I need love, love's divine
Please forgive me now I see that I've been blind
Give me love, love is what I need to help me know my name
Oh I, don't bet (don't bend), don't break (don't break)
Show me how to live and promise me you won't forsake
'Cause love can help me know my name
Love can help me know my name
