Reflections for Constable Dale David Geddie
I had the honor of working for and with Constable Dale Geddie. He was always the first one to stand up and help us out as dispatchers even if he was swamped with work. We could always count on him to take calls with no question. If it was in his precinct, he was always first on the scene. Day or night. I never once heard that man complain about the incredible amount of work he had. He made a difference, not only as a constable, but as a man. And for this I am truly sorry to see him go. My thoughts and prayers are with the Geddie Family.

You always had a smile for everyone--a true bright spot! You were doing great things starting in an office that had been taken to the bottom. Thank you for your efforts to restore integrity to the contable's office.
I will always remember you as the hero you were. Your wife, Lisa, is a special member of the Smith County family and all will do their best to look after her.

As a wife of a police officer for over 40 years and the mother of two police officers, my heart goes out to the wife and mother of Officer Geddie. I live in Precinct 4 and know he was doing a fine job and was a wonderful husband and father. I know his mother from the UT Health Center where we both retired and I had the opportunity to see first hand that this is a close and wonderful family. Please know you are in my prayers as I know I would be in yours if the circumstances were reversed. Being a mother and/or wife of a police officer is a privilege only she can know. We also hold a certain fear in our hearts that sometimes goes unspoken for years, if ever. God is taking care of him and he is watching over you until you meet again in the greatest homecoming of all.
May God comfort you as no one else can.

I had the privilege to work with both D.D. and his father O.D. at the Smith County Sheriff's Department. The Geddie Family is a shining example of public service and good moral character passed along to all who know them. The lessons taught by D.D. and his father to a young rookie officer continue to be used today. I will always love you D.D. and your family. I know that if you could speak to us today, you would say "Don't stop boys, go 10-8 because there is more work to do. I'm o.k. Don't worry about me". Others will know what I mean when I say D.D. was the man I wanted beside me when I went through the door. A perfect picture of courage, honesty, and just plain tough. Rest in peace my brother and friend. If God gives out mansions in heaven, D.D. will get a big one!!! I love you all

I received a call as I often do from a close friend I served in Kosovo with, John “Pat” Jordan. He left a message on by phone reporting that his community had lost a brother officer and he lost a friend. I am in Maine, however when I received this call it was like loosing one of my own. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family and all those affected by this tragedy. Rest in peace brother you paid the ultimate sacrifice. Blessed are the peacemakers for they are the children of God.

I am currently attending the East Texas Police Academy, soon to be graduating, but wanted to send my condolences. I've never had the chance to have a conversation with Constable Geddie but I have had the oppurtunity to hear of the great things he has done to serve Smith County as well as the many family and friends that he blessed by his time here. I will be proud to become a law enforcement officer and have the oppurtunity to serve with the men and women who make this country a better place. Constable Geddie will be missed, but not forgotten, while he was here he made an impact that will last a lifetime and the memories this community shares will never fade away. My condolences to officers in the Smith County area and to family and friends of a man of true godly character.

I have known Dale since he began in law enforcement and knew his dad even before that. While my son, Tommy (now a Dallas PD Officer) worked as a jailer at Smith County Jail, Dale was his Sergeant. He says he was a fine man and could not have had a more fair and just supervisor. My son, Jimmy L. Mount, Lindale PD, also praises Dale's character as an officer, family man, and friend. May God bless the Geddie family. As one Police Family to another, you will be remembered always and your name will always be a part of our family.
