Greg,
It has been over four years since your passing, and I am very sorry that I am just now finding out, and that we had lost touch with each other (fall 2002 was the last time I heard from you). I just want to say that I have missed your friendship. You provided me with mentorship and comradery that made soldiering worthwhile, and your insight and experiences from both the Marines and Beeville PD that you were kind enough to share with me were truly inspirational. It was my honor serving with you while I was in the scout plt with the 1/141, and I will forever be honored to say that we were and shall always be friends. See you on the other side, brother...

Tomorrow will be your 37th Birthday!!!!
Everyday I get up,I thank Jesus for a beautiful day & then My heart longs to hear the sound of your voice, see your wonderful dimples when you smiled (that you always tried to hide), feel the strength of your hug, when you'd come through the door. You are never out of my thoughts. My heart has not healed ,but my mind tells me you are ok, safe, hopefully watching over Joey in Afganhistan, always watching over Charlie. I still do not understand how a 35 year sentence is justifiable for your life. If any of my prayers are heard, I hope you know you were loved and valued so much more that. I can't wait to see you again.
I Love You,
Mom

Hey brother, just a quick note on this memorial day to say I love you, god bless your family and that your memory will live on. It used to be that we spent memorial day as a day off and and another reason to goof off (get drunk!)but it has a new meaning now. I will NEVER forget you and the others that gave the ultimate sacrifice. Peace bro, until we meet again......

SGT Stewart, looks like we are closing it up over here and soon the company will be returning home to our families. I take note of this time and reflect on our last return. Looks like this will be the end of the road for me, after command it is only staff work from here out. Got the 20 and figured time to move on. It was a good tour and our mission was sound (lot different place this time). The boys did great as always. Well just thinking of you, thought I'd stop by. Viper 6 Out...

Hey Greg,

Stopping in to let you know that were thinking about you. Just bought me a house up here so looks like I am sticking around the area. Hope to see your mom and dad again soon. Going to wait until the summer, that way maybe Charlie will be there. Jared really enjoyed playing with him last time we saw him.

Thanks for looking out for us down here.

Today is 4 years that our lives were forever changed. Today is the day that you were shot and so bravely fought for a week to hold. I'm still not quit sure how we get through the days, weeks, months, years, but somehow we do. Knowing that you are with our Lord and Savior comforts me so much. I know we will all see you soon. I love and miss you very much.

Don't be mad if I cry
It just hurts so bad sometimes
'Cause everyday it's sinking in
And I have to say goodbye all over again
You know I bet it feels good to have the weight of this world off your shoulders now
I'm dreaming of the day when I'm finally there with you

Save a place for me
Save a place for me
I'll be there soon
I'll be there soon
Save a place for me
Save some grace for me
I'll be there soon
I'll be there soon

I have asked the question why
But I guess the answer's for another time
So instead I'll pray with every tear
And be thankful for the time I had you here
And I wanna live my life just like you did
Make the most of my time just like you did
And I wanna make my home up in the sky
Just like you did
Oh, but until I get there
Until I get there

It has been 4 years since this brave young man died. Time marches on. A son is growing up, parents are growing older, a brother serves in Afganistan, a niece becomes a young lady. So much has happened. Dear Greg, we will never forget your bravery. We will continue to Honor your sacrifice. WE WILL CARRY ON!!!

greg: every time i see an officer, or am reminded about the reunion, or see your brother on facebook, i am filled with regret, and sadness... i know for a fact you were well respected and loved, and for whatever reason, you were taken from all of us too soon. i am thankful, so thankful for your service, and pray for your family.... see you again, greg...

Greg, there is not a day that goes by that you dont cross my mind. We all miss you and send our love to your family. I now live in Austin and had to go by the Fallen Officers Wall at the Capital. If your family ever needs anything, I will drop what I am doing and be there for them. God Bless brother.

Hey Greg,

I went and visited you about a week ago and called your mom up while I was there. Surprisingly she told me Charlie was there. I hadn't seen him in ages and was glad your mom answered the phone because the last time I was there they were not around. So I went and visited with your mom and dad for a little while and got to see Charlie. Jared played with him while I chatted with your mom and your dad was out hanging Christmas lights. One strand had a bulb out and go figure they were a brand new thing of lights. Your mom gave me a delicious piece of pecan pie.

After visiting for a bit it was time to go. I hated to leave but your dad had to take Charlie home the next day so your folks needed all the time with him as they could get in. Looking at him, he reminded me so much of you.

Well I best get going for now. I will talk to you soon Greg and keep those streets of Heaven safe.
