Well bro, 3rd tour is almost finished. Wish we could go riding our bikes together when I get home. Of course you know all of this already as I talk to you almost daily. I miss you and love you bro. Thanks for always being there to motivate me, especially with the sit ups, I don't know why you choose to stumble around my head when I'm doing situps but, I always enjoy seeing you. One last mission and then its rip. I know that you are the angel that keeps me safe. I have to laugh because how many people have an Angel named "Greg Mother!@#$%^& Stewart" looking out for them? Not many I suppose. See ya soon enough bro, but not today.

Greg, I miss you all the time. Each day I put on my vest and badge, I think of you. I still remember the last time I spoke with you. I think it was in the spring of 05. You called me when we were both working night shift and told me how you went to a call of DV and almost shot somebody because they were being stupid and how that made you feel. I was SO glad that I had somebody like you that was on the job and could relate to all those calls we've been to where life and death were just a matter seconds. That night was the last time I ever heard your voice. I got married (may 13th, 06) the weekend you got shot and Ben called me the day before my wedding to tell me. I asked Ben to call me after my wedding to give me an update on your status because I knew that if I knew you didn't make it, it would destroy me. I went on my honeymoon and called Ben when I got back and he told me you passed that next monday. Greg, I feel guilty for not knowing when you died and for not calling your or being there when I should have. I hope you can forgive me.

I emailed the homicide Sgt with San Antonito PD afterwards and he told you sure as hell didn't go down without a fight. I have no dout that you did what you did to try and protect the guy that was with you and to get the guy that was robbing you. Your warrior spirit inspires me. Each day I try to be the cop that you were. Rest easy brother.

If any of Greg's brothers who served with him in Iraq read this, I would like to know what you guys did there. Please email me at [email protected]

Sergeant Stewart, well the ramp up is almost complete, in the next couple of months I'll take Bravo Company back over to the sandbox. Just got a whole bunch of new privates in and sure could use your help whipping them into shape. Think this may be my last time over, it gets harder and harder to leave the wife and kids for these deployments. My boy is growing up quickly and I fear he will not remember me when I return. Sure wish you were headed over with me, this one is gonna need a little more humor than the last. I'll check in from time to time let you know how the company and mission are, it will be interesting to see how things are since we left the last time. P.S. Happy Birthday (I never could remember them all, have a bad enough time remembering my anniversary) Hope Charlie and your family are doing good. Viper 6, out.

Thinking of you again as spring becomes summer. I love you and miss you. Everyday I'm surprised by new thoughts of you. I just remembered the other day the time you came by my home with your new pick-up, proud that you got away without making a down payment. I wonder what happened? I never heard the end of the story. Thanks for watching over us.

Smeg!

So I find myself here again, reading all the wonderful, personal things people have written to you and about you. I think of you often, as do all of your old friends from H.S. I just got in touch with Danny Wyatt in December. He mentioned seeing you after H.S. when you were both in the Marine Corps. He told me a funny story about how you snuck up on him from across the street and gave him a huge bear hug! He, like all of us, have such fond and funny memories of you and your antics. I have an old video (yes video) from one of the wrestling tournaments you were in. You had just gotten beat pretty bad, and Brennan and I interviewed you. It was funny, and even in defeat you acted like you had just won the match. We all miss you so much. You were truly a great friend and I hope one day to see you again.

I wanted to let you know that we are expecting our second child (another boy) in April. He is due around the same time as Col. Millhaem's birthday. Also wanted to let you know that Mrs. Millhaem passed away in January. She was not doing well for some time and her body finally gave out. I know she is up there in heaven with you and the Col. You're probably having a beer and them vodka on the rocks (with a twist of lime!).

I miss you friend,

Ben

Well the holidays have come and gone. Couple of years have past and still not a day goes by when something doesnt
remind me of you. Be it at work or at home, still meet people who see the tattoo we got in your memory, and recognize the punisher that you always liked. The family is great, theres another one on the way. Wish you were here, see you again one day.
