To Officer Makowski & the Dearborn Hgts PD,
We sat hopeful for a teletype saying that you were going to be ok...It never came. We were forced to inform our department that "we" lost yet another officer. Another husband, son, & daddy. We will don our black bands, lower our flags and mourn another HERO. You will never be forgotten Jason. You will be honored in every sense of the word. We may not work in the same city, but we are all bound by this thin blue line. If there is anything at all we can do, we are a mere phone call away.
To Mrs Makowski,
I am so deeply sorry for your loss. It saddens me to think about the grief and sorrow that you are facing, the uncertainty, the fear. Know that you are part of a huge family, a police family, that love you and care for you. Know that you are in our hearts and prayers.
You too will NEVER be forgotten.
