At the beginning of every shift, myself and the other officers on shift dedicate the day to the memory of a fallen officer.
Today, May 25, 2006 we dedicated the shift to the memory of Corporal Jason Makowski who died in the line of duty just a few hours ago.
When one law enforcement officer falls, we all stumble for a while, but we will carry on.
Cpl. Makowski's sacrifice will never be forgotten.

Dearest Jason,
As I sat behind my desk on this very day,
I recieved a message that you had passed away,
I am just a dispatcher you see,
I know that radio call would have been hard for me,
I said a prayer as I sat behind my desk,
May the good Lord let you rest,
I prayed for you, your family and department
May you walk tall and proud through the gates of Heaven,
Knowing that you served and protected the citizens of your community.
Jason you wil be sadly missed by all.

I was involved in an accident just this past Monday and officer Makowski was the man who responded to the scene. He was very kind and professional. It's so sad to hear Dearborn Heights has lost a fine officer! My thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends and co-workers.

Jason, I hope you felt all the love that was at the hospital for you last night. While we were all there I had a chance to talk to Norman, he reminded me about all the fun we had together (me,you, billy and him)2nd thru the 5th grades playing together on Lincoln St. in the Hts. I remember all the fun we had exploring by the creek and hanging around Pardee elementary school playground. I wish you were still here and we could all go out, have a beer and reminisce. Alot of people miss you and wish you had more time here. It will take a long time to get over this shock. It is just so hard to comprehend.
It's so unreal!
