To the mother of Officer Makowski,
I am hurting for you today because I was in your shoes almost two years ago. I just want you to know that there is a group called MI-Cops waiting for you when you are ready. If it had not been for these other moms that lost their sons/daughter I don't think I would have made it to this point. Please contact us for support when you are up to it. We care and will be there to help in any way.

Jason, I remember you as a classmate in the police academy, and the short time we spent together at Grosse Pte Park PSD. I remember you being concerned about quiting the Fire Academy to join Dearborn Heights, because you didn't want to disapoint anyone. You gave your best, and that showed in your work ethic. Dearborn Heights loss is heavens gain, and you will not be forgotten by those who knew you best.

I would like to extend my deepest sympathies to the Makowski family and the entire Dearborn Heights Police Dept. This is such a senseless and tragic loss that the entire law enforcement and corrections community is experiencing. We have lost another brave brother in blue, but in I know that Cpl. Makowski is patrolling the streets of heaven, Cpl. Makowski was the true definition of a hero that will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

to the familiy, friends and coworkers of Corporal Makowski. I just wanted to extend my sympathy to all of you. It breaks my heart to know another brave you man has fallen in the line of duty. Please know that we "average citizens" appreciate all you "men and women in blue" do to protect us each and every day. God bless you all.

I am deeply sadden that a officer from my home town has given his life in the line of duty. I went Annapolis High School and lived in Dearborn Heights until I was 20 years old. Even though it has been 8 years I still feel for Dearborn Heights. I hope that everyone possible will let his son know that his father was a hero and did a job that not everyone can do. No one will ever forget you Corporal Jason Makowski. Thank you for your service and look down on your family and fellow officers from time to time especially now during this healing process.

To the family, friends and co-workers of Corp.Makowski: my husband and i would like to extend our deepest and sincerest condolenes to those that loved and served with this young man.To his son, their are no words to express the lose of your father but just know that those in the law enforcement community will be your protector and guide you as your father would want.
Having suffered the lose of a friend here just a few short weeks ago on his way to take the drunk drivers off the roads,he was killed by one.I understand the raw emotion and pain and of course the big question of "WHY HIM ?".My husband grew up just down the road from where this incident took place in dearborn, the rest of his family still lives there your CORP.MAKOWSKI helped keep the streets they travel safe and for that we both thank you and just want him to know that for that there is no way to express how we feel and no words to make this pain any easier.
Your sacrifice will never be forgotten for you sir did not die in vein.you dedicated your life to this job and people you served now its our turn to serve for you so that you may rest in peace.now that you are up in heaven with such great company please take comfort in the fact that those left behind will work that much harder and love that much more those that are still here. and if you should run into rob (gilbert,az eow 4-30-06 ) tell him i said "hay".hes a wonderful guy to know. so RIP blue angel and thank you a million times for your service for you have joined the elite up there.
