Reflections for Sergeant Rodney Todd Miller
Rodney, Jack and I cherished your friendship and your "on the way home, just checking in to see how you're doing" phone calls. We thought the world of you and talked about no matter how bad of a day we were experiencing, your cheeriness always brightened things. You will truly be missed by us and all who knew you.
Karla, words can't express our sorrow for your and the boys' loss. I know he's watching over you and everyone else, now.
God bless you, Rodney, and I'm counting on seeing you again.

I didn't know Sergeant Miller, but reading all of the reflections indicates that he wasn't only a good officer, but a good person for the community and role model. You truly never know what kind of impact you will make on peoples lives by your kindness.
May Sergeant Miller's family and friends be comforted by the ISP family, friends, and God's grace.

We are saddened once again with the sad news of another hero taken from us. It is a great loss for the family and department during this crisis. We might not know the right words to say, or even know how to say them, but we can pray for your family and friends. May the Lord give them strength through this time.

Rodney, you made everyone in CC #87 laugh (& groan) with your timing, wit, and sense of humor-especially late on Friday afternoons. You were friendly, helpful, and put a smile on our faces when we needed it most. We miss you and Chong Lim, thank you both for your service and sacrifice. You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers. God bless you.

I did not know Sergeant Miller personally, but I would like to thank him for all he did to make our world a better & safer place. This personally hit home for me as I lost my sister-in-law, Police Officer Robin G. Vogel, last October to a vehicle accident and actually found this site as I was thinking about her. We don't understand why God allows things like this to happen, but we must not become bitter, but rather rest assured in the fact that He is in control and that He has a purpose for everything. Karla, please know that you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers in the thoughts and prayers of so many others. The Lord will see you through this very difficult time! It sounds like your husband was a wonderful father, co-worker, friend, and just an all-around good man to which I am sure you are very proud!
Sincerely,
Jeni Vogel

Coach Miller,
Thank you for all that you have done for my son, Connor Ginos. A few weeks ago Connor came home from practice and told me that "Coach Miller told him to keep his throws to first base low." He wanted to impress you so much that he would ask his stepdad (Josh) to go out and play catch with him.
Last Monday when I was watching practice you complimented Connor on how well he was throwing the ball. On our drive home all he talked about was your comment on his throwing abilities. You were a wonderful coach and you always made the kids feel so special. Especially when you handed out the "game ball" to one of the boys who played well during that game. I know that Connor has kept all the one's that he received from you.
Thank you for making such an impression on my son. We will never forget your smile and personality even at 5am at the Decatur Athletic Club. You will be missed, but never forgotten.
