Vicky, My eyes hurt so much from the tears that are endless. THis is a pain that is unlike any pain I've felt since 9-11. It was an honor to have worked beside you on the daywork squad at Reston. You are truely a hero and I have the upmost respect for you and for your help during my early yrs. on the dept. Words can't express how you will be missed, you were the toughest of the officers I've known, and yet had a great sense of humor. You will truely be missed. God bless you, Tyler and your family, you have touched us all. One day we'll see you again, I salute you

To the Armel family:
All of us in law enforcement grieve with you during this most difficult time, but at the same time we are uplifted in the knowledge that God has given us, even for a short time, such dedicated and caring public servants- guardians of our peace. You will be missed Vicki, but your sacrifice and courage never forgotten.

A police officer's goal is to go home everyday at the end of a shift. Vicky did not get to go to her earthly home. She made the ultimate sacrifice doing what she loved to do. We are grateful for having had her as an officer serving Fairfax County. We will always love and remember you.

Vicky, didn't know you but from what I've been reading of late you're a helluva cop. Don't know if I'll make the same place you're at now in the afterlife but know that Mark Cosslett, Ron Kerzaya, and Bubba Harrison are. Get up with Mark and he'll introduce you to "Evo" and you'll have a hoot with the both 'em in between looking down and keeping an eye on the rest of us.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to yet another fallen VA officer. As a recent guest of the Fairfax Police Department I was truly touched by the graciousness and professionalism of the department. I'm sure that Det Armel was the picture of both as she served both her fellow officers and community. Thank you for your service.

Knowing the risks involved, you did what few would. You saw the danger your Brother Officer was in and took action. Your husband and children will hold their heads high, knowing that Mommy never gave up, even when confronted with every officers worst nightmare. You are a true hero Detective Armel, and Law Enforcement nationwide will mourn losing you to such a horrible act. God Bless you and your family, and your fellow Brothers and Sisters in Uniform.
