Again, my heart breaks for another officer and her family. My husband, Michael Wise was killed in June 2004 and it always makes me so sad to know that another family is enduring what we did just a short time ago. My thoughts and prayers are with Detective Armel's family, friends and coworkers.

To all the family and friends,My heart goes out to you and you are in my prayers. I worked with Vicky at the FFX Sheriffs Office back in the day and she seemed to always be smiling. When she went to the FFX Police Dept and I would see her around the court house she was smiling and would always stop and chat. Vicky set a standard for us all as people and as officers. I will always remember you Vicky and all that you have done for us in paying the price to protect us all... May God keep you and protect us all.... I WILL MISS YOU.....

Death is to be expected and Christ has prepared us for that eventuality, but it doesn't make any easier for those of us who continue on to understand why. Even though, I have been ticketed by our Police force on several occasions when I have broken the law I can truely say I never felt any hostility because of them doing their duty for all of us. They are a professional group and always convey the feeling of wanting to do whats right and protect us in every way. And Detective Armel has shown the ultimate sacrifice by giving her life to protect us all from one of those who is sick and deranged. The Light of the Lord has shined upon her and her actions shown she was one of his servants and a lover of her society and fellow citizens.
Thank you Detective Armel and your fellow Officers for protecting me and my family and friends. God bless us all.

Easy going in nature,
Respected and loved by all,
We are proud to have served with you,
As you answered the call.
Fly, fly do not fear
Don't waste a breath, don't shed a tear
Your heart is pure, your soul is free
Be on your way, don't wait for me
Above the universe you'll climb
On beyond the hands of time
The moon will rise, the sun will set. . .But I won't forget
May God bless your husband and children. Rest in peace Vicky. You may be gone but you will never be forgotten. . .

There is very little that will stop a law enforcement officer in their tracks. When news of the tragic & senseless events unfolding on May 8th were first broadcast, the news was not coming quickly enough. And then it was heard that one of our own had succumbed to her injuries. It was at that moment that I cried for my sister. I did not know you, however I did not need to. You made the ultimate sacrifice and did it as a hero - continuing to fight until the end.
My prayers are with and for you, Detective Vicky Armel. My prayers are also with your family and "brothers and sisters" of the law enforcement community. This will be a difficult time for those that knew you - and even those that did not have that pleasure.
God Bless You - and may you rest in peace.

Dear all Buddhist followers and friends,
We have learned the non-sense tragedy happened on this Monday afternoon at the Sully District Police Station in Fairfax County. This misfortune killed one officer, took the live of a gunman, and wounded two other victims. It was with great sadness of loss that we learned of Detective Vicky O. Armel’s death.
We hope and believe that these similarly unexpected events never and never happen again in our community as well as in the Fairfax County. Our thoughts and prayers are with all victims, their family and friends. Detective Armel will always remain very much alive in the memories of those who loved, respected, and treasured her.
Please go to your church or temple on this weekend and share your sympathy and pray to those who died, injured, and suffered on and after this saddened news.
With love and compassion,
