Reflections for Detective Vicky Anne Owen Armel
As cold-blooded as a murderer can be! Once again, this terrible tragedy reminds me of the danger that police officers are willing to face in order to protect innocent people who want to live in peace. Thank you to Detective Armel and all those in LE for keeping us safe in this violent world.

Detective Armel, I am so sorry for your loss. Your courage and the courage of all police officers is much more than we average citizens have. We are in debt for the protection you gave us. I know of your tragic loss because it happened on the same day we lost one of our own police officers, Officer Gary Skerski of the Philadelphia P.D. I only wished society would do more to help our police departments. We need stronger gun laws and stronger sentences to put criminals away for a very long time. Thank you for your bravery and dedication to protect all of us. My prayers are that the other Officer makes a full recovery and for you and your family.

(From a Policeman's Prayer) "...And when we lay down our night sticks, enroll us in your Heavenly Force, where we will be as proud to guard the throne of God, as we have been to guard the city of men."
You were a beautiful, strong, heroic woman - the woman many of us strive to be every day when we put on our uniforms. Thank you for your sacrifice and may your life be celebrated. Heartfelt prayers to your family and department. God Bless.

I served with you vicky at the Sheriffs Office and remember your smile, devotion to duty and how you made those around you do thier best. There is no good to your leaving us and no justification that will stop the pain felt but you will be forever rememmbered and therefore will live on in your family, friends and community. I salute you and tell you your final sacrifice will not be forgotten by the passage of time.I honor you now and forever vicky.

Vicky, I was devastated when the news of this tragedy reached me overseas. You are one of the most professional law enforcement officers I ever had the pleasure and honor to work with. To Tyler and your children, I send my most sincere condolences.

Dear Vicky,
It was with tremendous shock and sadness that I learned of your untimely death. You were without a doubt, the most cheerful person with the most memorable smile from our academy class 17 years ago. My sincerest condolences to your husband and children and everyone else you leave behind. You will always be missed.

I've spent the past hour reading the 22 pages of reflections just as I read all the reflections that were left for my brother. I still read them today.
I lived in Southern Maryland for 4 years before moving back to my hometown. I became friends with Fairfax County Police during the Police Unity Tour.
I know how hard it is on family but I really know how hard it is on the other officers.
Vicky wouldn't want you to turn your back on your job. You are only human and allowed to feel this pain but please don't let it take you away from your job permanently. It is you that protects us. We wouldn't be the America we are if we didn't have you, THE MEN AND WOMEN IN BLUE.
I wish I could be there to hug each and every officer that knew Vicky. God has a bigger purpose for you Vicky.
Our world is safer with all the officers down here on Earth but God must be using all these wonderful fallen officers for something.
My prayers are with everyone that comes to this site. God Bless all of you and know it is okay to lean on your friend.

Vicky,
I broke down last night for the first time, not because God wanted another hero, but because I feel like society has betrayed us. How could someone do something like this? Questions will never be answered until we are in front of the All Mighty. You saved so many, you are my hero and I'm sorry I couldn't be there to help. Even though it is a time to mourn, may your husband and children someday find a smile when thinking of you. Please watch over us all.

I didn't know you personally but from all that I have learned from the people who did know you, the people who worked with you day to day and the citizens you served, you were a very special lady. It is a beautiful legacy you have left behind.
We are three parts: body, soul and spirit. Your body and soul have left us but your spirit lives on with Him. What a wonderful place to be, in the arms of Jesus.
"When I get where I'm going
And I see my maker's face

Dear family
My deepest prayers go out to you and your family. You made me realize how much i care about my father. He is a deputy sheriff for Fairfax county. He worked with you for a long time. I'm truly sorry. I know you are with our lord and savior and that you hold a special place in all of our hearts. The day my father heard about you, the first thing he said when he walked through the door was are you watching the news. I cant believe this, i worked with Vicky for a long time. Dad tossed and turned that night. I hear about you in school and at home. I haven't met you but I'm sure you are an amazing person. Tonight I learned about this site from my father. He said he was reading the letters on here and had to stop because he was going to cry and didn't want to be sad at work.
god bless you and the work you have done for us! Thank you for helping make the world a better place.
My heart goes out to you

Detective Armel,
Words can't express the total sense of loss I felt when I saw your picture here. I know our paths have crossed, either in court or when I was visiting close friends who are Fairfax County officers. Words can't express the pride I feel in having met you and knowing that I had the honor of meeting a true hero. Rest in peace dear sister; I know you are in the loving arms of our savior. God bless you and your family.
