Reflections for Police Officer Gary Jonathan Buro
Four years have gone by and it seems like it was just yesterday that you left us. We miss you everyday! "ONLY THE GOOD DIE YOUNG!" xoxo

Just stopping by to say hello and thinking about you and your family! I met you 4 years ago when we both started to work for Chesterfield. I left my county job over a year ago to return to go back to school, and have returned to work again for the county after finishing school. Couldn't help but remember laughing in the new employee orientation and defensive driving class with you and the rest of the crew as I sat through it all again this week. Thanks for all you did while you were here, and thanks for continuing to watch out for others from up above.

1 day after the 3rd anniversary...I had heard rumors, but never heard the truth. Makes me sorry I missed our 10th reunion. I will always remember you, and your great ability to make anyone laugh when they needed it most. I knew when you went into the Marines after HS that you would do something great, and make a difference. I am very proud to have known you. RIP.

Gary,
Three years ago today you were called to guard the streets of heaven just as the Marine Corps Hymn says we all will one day. Wanted to let you and your family know that you are in our thoughts and prayers everyday. Thank you for your sevice and sacrifice. We miss you!!!!

Three years still does not heal the hurt of losing such a great person. Only knew you for a few days and knew that I had met a great person as well as a great officer. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family always.

Thinking of you and your family today as we just lost three more brave brothers in Pittsburg this morning at a domestic. It's been a tough time recently with seven brave men leaving us in just two incidents (Oakland and Pittsburg). Thank you for your service and for the sacrifice you made to keep others safe. You are thought of often, even by those who never had the honor to meet you.

Thinking about you today. Being a rookie in 2008, I never had the pleasure of meeting you, but I know you are with us on every Midnight, Day, and Evening shift.

Gary was one of the good ones-knew how to laugh, and still get the job done. You are missed my friend.

Officer Bahr from Fredericksburg PD was killed on duty this week and it got me to thinking about you. The first time I met you was the night of May 3rd going into the 4th. Midnight rollcall just broke and the guys were hitting the streets...I was an evening shift officer stuck at Chester station doing a report. I remember finishing up then going to check my mailbox. After that, I turned the corner and ran right smack into you, Gary. I never met you before ... so I said sorry. I remember you smiling back at me as we parted our ways. I then heard the news about 1 1/2 hr later that some lowlife took you away from us. You touched a lot of lives from your longtime brothers in NY and FL to your newly met brothers in VA. God bless you --- we still think about you.

This year is Jen's 20th high school reunion. I've been thinking a lot of the 10th, when we were all together and how much fun we had! I will drink a toast to you both at this one. Thank you for watching over Jen and her parents. Say a prayer for the rest of us left here.
Love,

Gary,
It's hard to believe you have been gone for two years. Words can not express how much you are missed. Both you and Jen are forever in my heart. The memory of both of you brings a smile to my face and fills my heart with love and laughter. Thank you for all the great memories. RIP

On this the second anniversary of your untimely death, you are honored. You are a hero and touched many lives. I read here the thoughts and messages that are sent by those who had the honor of knowing you and wish that I too had that honor. Someday, when my time on this earth shall end, I would be honored to shake your hand.
