Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Police Officer Gary Jonathan Buro

A sad loss to the family and co-workers of Officer Buro and to the extended family to which we all belong.

In reading the reflections I noticed that Officer Buro's wife recently passed away. I know she has welcomed Gary with open arms and they are together again, watching over all those they have left behind.

God Bless.

It has shocked and hurt me greatly that you have lost your life. I know we have a hard job at times and we go to work facing unknown situations. It is just hard to comprehend something like this, why does these things happen to good people. I know you are with God forever. I know God wanted you home, but you know, why so soon? A million questions and no easy answers but I know it all comes back to God. I now love my wife a little deeper, kiss her a little longer, and appreciate every precious second that I have with my wife. What I am trying to say is that through this tragedy I have realized sometimes I take the priceless things in life for granted. I just wanted to let you know that today I grieve, in the future...I take these lessons learned and turn them into positives and to realize how precious our lives really are...you will NEVER be forgotten...you guys up there...help keep us safe while we continue the watch.

Officer Buro,
My heart breaks for your family, friends & co-workers as I know the pain the are feeling. You died on what would have been my husband's 46th birthday had he not been killed in the line of duty also. May God give them the strength they need to carry on because without his loving arms around me, I wouldn't have been able to make it this far. It's a long lonely road. You obviously were well thought of and now have gone to join your wife...unfortunately there evidently was someone else left behind who you loved dearly also. My heart breaks for her - no matter whether you are married or not, your love can still be that strong. Thanks for giving your all Officer. Give Calvin a hug for me!

To the family, friends, and officers that knew Officer Buro, my thoughts and prayers are with you as you face the trying times ahead of you. Please know your not alone.

Then the rainstorm came, over me
And I felt my spirit break
I had lost all of my, belief you see
And realized my mistake
But time through a prayer, to me
And all around me became still

I need love, love's divine
Please forgive me now I see that I've been blind
Give me love, love is what I need to help me know my name

Through the rainstorm came sanctuary
And I felt my spirit fly
I had found all of my reality
I realize what it takes

'Cause I need love, love's divine
Please forgive me now I see that I've been blind
Give me love, love is what I need to help me know my name

Oh I, don't bet (don't bend), don't break (don't break)
Show me how to live and promise me you won't forsake
'Cause love can help me know my name

Well I try to say there's nothing wrong
But inside I felt me lying all along
But the message here was plain to see
Believe me

'Cause I need love, love's divine
Please forgive me now I see that I've been blind
Give me love, love is what I need to help me know my name

Oh I, don't bet (don't bend), don't break (don't break)
Show me how to live and promise me you won't forsake
'Cause love can help me know my name

Love can help me know my name.
