Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Police Officer Gary Jonathan Buro

Like many of the persons in these reflections, I too did not get a chance to know you. From what I gather, the day that we would have met, you would have left me with an outstanding first impression. I am deeply saddend by you passing. You are my bother and I will miss the day that we would have met. I deeply appreciate what you have done throughout your life, Marine Corps and the different agencies. Doing the law enforcement job as long as you have shows me that you have a love for the job and the people. It takes a special person to do that for as long as you have. Although you are gone from us now, I know that you will look down on all who work the Law enforcement profession and guide us as you did when you were here. And for that I know that I am safer. Thank you for what you have given. And remember: "God only takes the good ones"
Rest in Peace my brother in "Green"

Officer Buro,

Thank you for answering the call and routinely facing danger, while the rest of us (citizens) stand back in the safety of our homes and watch. I would also like to thank you for the time (majority of your life) you have dedicated to the service of our country - both as a Marine and a Police Officer in multiple jurisdictions. The sacrifice that you and your family (including co-workers and friends) have had to make will not be forgotten.

May God bless and keep your Survivors.

Gary,
I had looked forward to the days that we could have built our friendship over time but am thankful for the time I was able to spend with you and get to know you. I know Nate, Tony, Ed and Dennis also felt the same as me and enjoyed the time we had in the acadamy together. You were a special person who made all of us proud to be associated with you. It was an honor for all of us to get up and speak or you today at your memorial and we stood there with very heavy hearts. We will continue to pray for you and your family and you will never be forgotten. The fact that you touched so many of us in such a short time is a testament to the type of person you were. May God bless you.... I know you are at peace now and in a better place.......

Gary,

Thank you for reminding me of the "good old Jersey days"

Rest peacefully you earned it..

An Angel In The Sky Must Leave His Place Of Rest,
Gently Tucking His Wings Beneath His Armored Vest.
For Duty Has Called, There Is Much Work To Do
Little Did He Know, This One Is Dressed In Blue.
Arriving On The Scene, He Knows Just What To Say,
"Follow Me, Fallen Brother, I'll Show You The Way."
"Your Duty Has Ended, Your Work Is Now Through."
"Come Hang Your Hat Beside Mine. I'm A Cop, Too."
