My prayers go out to the Buro Family and his extended family in law enforcement in New York, Florida, and Chesterfield County, Virginia. Officer Buro,
Although we never met, no words can express the gratitude and pride I feel to be fortunate enough to say I shared the same uniform as a Man like you. What an impressive turnout of support and brotherhood today at the memoral service here in Chesterfield County. From your brothers in "Green", all the local, State, and Federal agencies represented, your bretheren from Florida, the USMC, and the strong and proud ranks of the NYPD.
GODSPEED brother, and may God bless your family and
Officer Joe Diman.

I know I speak for all my brothers and sisters here in Henrico when I say it hit close to home when we heard of the tragedy. Today you were laid to rest and given your permanent assignment...a beat on Heaven's streets. You are a true hero Officer Buro. May God bring peace and comfort to your family and our neighbor, Chesterfield County PD.

Officer Buro-
I wanted very much to make it to your memorial today, but "duty" otherwise called. I know this reflection isn't much, but it's all I can do right now. I thank you for your service during our country's darkest hour. That alone makes you a hero, but to then give up your wife and now pay the ultimate price in service to your community is beyond heroic. It shouldn't have happened, but sometimes, God calls us to be with those we love the most and have lost.
I pray that you are with your wife in heaven and enjoying the rest of your existence with her. I pray that "our Heavenly Father may leave your family with only the cherished memories of the loved and lost." I pray that your sacrifice not be in vain and that any lessons learned can help save the lives of future officers and maybe even help your administration spend money to make sure those officers ARE safe. And I pray that your partner recovers fully and completely from his injury and is able to carry on in your memory.
Thank you for giving of yourself. I only wish the price weren't so high.
Rest in Peace, brother.

To the family, friends and CCPD,
Having just spoke to two evening shift officers at Ettrick Park only hours before the incident it saddened my heart to hear the news the next morning. I heard the distint sound of sirens and Med-flight passing over my home but had no idea of the tragedy at the time. When working with the squad you come in contact with so many wonderful officers and you get to know them in a very special way. I had a chance to meet Officer Buro in our subdivision and his smile will always be a sweet memory.
We can't say why it happened, only that our Father in Heaven has an appointed time for each of us and we know not the day or the hour.
It is also very hard to comperhend when you know both of the deceased. Mr. Anderson along with his younger sibilings rode my school bus daily, and he also rode on my football bus. I can only ask God for understanding at this but it's not our call but Our Heavenly Father to judge. He takes care of his own.
Rest in peace officer Buro and may Gods richest blessings of peace and safety be on his family and the Officers of CCPD. You do your job well!

To Officer Buro's family and police comrades,
I am saddened once more that a law enforcement officer has been slain. Working with the Henrico County Police Dept. as a volunteer has made me feel as though all law enforcement personnel are a part of a family that works together as a body to protect all citizens. When a member of this family is senselessly taken "from the ranks", all who are a part of law enforcement, either as an officer or as a volunteer, feel a loss that is immeasurable. May each of the family of Officer Buro, as well as, his "police family" know the Peace of the Resurrection.

I can only imagine what your family is going through at this time. We have a son who is an officer with Chesterfield and we pray everyday that he is protected from harm. When tragedy comes, we can find comfort in knowing that death comes to them doing what they love, doing what is right and that they make a difference. There is a special place in Heaven for police officers and fire fighters. May the Lord bless your family with peace, understanding and comfort.

ETERNAL LIGHT
Those we love must someday pass beyond our present sight... Must leave us and the world we know without their radiant light. But we know that like a candle their lovely light will surely shine to brighten up another place more perfect... more divine. And in the realm of Heaven where they shine so warm and bright. Our loved ones live forevermore in God’s eternal light.
In Valor There is Hope...
Rest in Peace Fallen Brother...May God Keep Your Loved Ones.
We will honor your memory with our continued service in the profession you chose. Keep watch over us in your new assignment in Heaven.

To the family of Officer Buro:
Though Gary's death has been a horrible tragedy for you and the department, I hope you can find some comfort in the fact that he touched so many lives and helped so many people in his short time here. I consider Officer Buro to be a hero not because of the way he died, but because of the heroic way he lived his life. I regret that I only knew Gary a very short time, but I value that I had the opportunity to meet him at all. I will pray for your family during this difficult time. I have no doubt that Gary is being well taken care of by all the men in uniform that preceded him to heaven.
