Reflections for Sergeant Darryl Takeo Tsujimoto
Darryl--seeing so many friends this week and not seeing you....I am still in disbelief. You will be forever missed by those you served with because we count you as a friend first and foremost. Please keep a watchful eye over all of us and until we meet again my friend, have fun playing with the dogs.

Darryl,
I still hear your giggle and see your smile all the time...it's just in my head now. I still can't believe you're gone...it seems unreal and quite frankly stupid. I wish we could have said our goodbyes at the hospital that night. You will always be in my thoughts--especially when I see K9 units out doing their thing.

I come to the ODMP often to remember my late fiancé Dennis. Everytime I come here it breaks my heart to know that yet another officer has fallen and that yet another family has to live their lives without the man they loved. My heart goes out to everyone who knew and loved Sergeant Tsujimoto, especially to his fiancée. Know that you are not alone in the "journey" that you walk. Should you ever need anything please don't hesitate to contact me. The Davis Co. Sheriff's Office in Iowa will always know how to reach me. You will be in my thoughts.
From reading all the reflections left for Darryl, he sounds like he was a great man with a beautiful spirit. Those of you who knew him in life were so blessed to have been able to share in it. I hope that you will all continue to find a way to celebrate and remember Darryl's life and the MAN that he was. Remember that Darryl's life was about so much more than the way he died. Darryl will continue to live on as long as we continue to remember him.
Sergeant Tsujimoto, thank you for helping to make this world a little safer for us all. YOU will not be forgotten. Please continue to watch over all of us as only you can. If you happen to bump into my fiancé Dennis up there give him a big hug for me and the kids. It's been three years but we still miss him terribly.
Wishing you brighter and better days,
Jocelyne :)

Darryl meant so much to so many people and my family was no exception. We had the priviledge of seeing Darryl almost weekly over the past several years. As so many peolpe know K-9 training took up alot of Darryl's time when he wasn't working.
For the past several years, Darryl would make the trek out to Oakley on Sunday to train with my husband. We now cherish those times that we had with him.
Darryl and Sonia are such wonderful people. They are both so generous and giving. The K-9 world lost a one of a kind individual who gave so much to so many people.
Darryl, my family will be there for Sonia and your dogs. There isn't a day that goes by that you don't cross my mind, especially when a cell phone rings.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to Sonia, the Tsujimoto Family and all of Darryl and Sonia's K-9 companions.

Dearest Sgt. Tsujimoto. his family, friends and co-workers at San Francisco P.D.: It is sad to lose a law enforcement officer, but perhaps it will comfort you knowing he has wings now and can fly faster than the dogs he worked with. I hope you all keep in touch with his family and his k9 partner to help ease the grief. He is watching everyone and he can really play with all the partners that have gone to Heaven. I hope he maybe says hi to a few of my cats. Go bless this wonderful sergeant and all of you. Citizens never say "thank you" enough to you officers, but you ARE loved, respected and appreciated. We just don't let you know enough.
Hus and love to ease your grief,

Hey Darryl,
It's been two weeks and I've yet to get through a day without breaking down in tears. It wasn't till you left I figured out this September would have been 30 years being friends - man the time flew by. You being gone still doesn't seem real for any of us. I'll still teach my kids our love of fishisng like we were going to and I know you'll be there with us. You were the best friend and godfather of my son I ever could have asked for. You've always been there for me and rest easy...I'm there for all your loved ones till I join you. I'll always love and miss you my brother.

Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers for the family. We all appreciate your kind words during this difficult time. So many of you have asked how you can help the family; on behalf of the family, you can remember Darryl's passion and energy for everything he did in life- embrace that...and incorporate it into your own personal lives so that Darryl's spirit will continue. As I mentioned in Darryl's funeral services- the only explanation we have for Darryl's death was from an unknown officer at the emergency room. Although I don't know his name, he commented, "God must have called for a K9 unit...and Darryl simply answered the call."

Darryl,
We both cut our teeth in canine at about the same time. Your drive to stay on the cutting edge of training was truly inspirational to me. You really tried to understand how to communicate with dogs so that relationships between dogs and handlers would improve. There are alot of happier dogs and handlers thanks to you.
I am going to miss the road trips to training seminars and trials. You were always there to help me work out problems that I had with my dogs. I can only hope I was as helpful to you.
I will never forget the time you and Sonya spent your evening with me when I had to put my first patrol dog down. Thanks to you Manno was able to spend his final hours at home with loved ones instead of a vet hospital.
You were always that way; always thinking of others.
I promise to pass on the knowledge that you gave to me so that your legacy will live on.
I will never forget you my friend,
