Reflections for Trooper Eduardo Chavez

Trooper Chavez, Thank you for the services that you have given. You will never be forgotten. It is such a thankless job that most people don't even think about. I just wanted to say THANK YOU for all you have done. Even though I have never met you, I know that you will be missed oh so very much. In the last 2 weeks we had to bury one of our own.It is the hardest thing to ever have to go through. I hope that your family, friends and co-workers may find peace and comfort through GOD himself. May GOD bless us all and be with us. I know that my friends are waiting for you and will show you the ropes in HEAVEN. I just hope that someday people will realize what the word POLICE really means. Police officers, MEN and WOMEN both have families to go home to,just like everyone else. They all work an 8 hour shift just as anyone else does. Why do people think that they do not matter? May GOD be with all brothers and sisters alike.

To the family of Trooper Chavez I send my deepest sympathies. As a former Texas resident, I'm well aware of the risks these brave people take on a daily basis. While we never met, I pray that God will keep his hand upon those you left behind. The Bible teaches us that man can have no greater love than to give his life in defense of someone else. You died serving the people of Texas, the Department and your brother in arms and blood. Your child will have the consolation of knowing that their Father was a true hero. As long as we have people like you ready to make the ultimate sacrifice, maybe there is still hope for us all.

You are the third Trooper our Department has lost this year, all three of you at the beginning of your careers with DPS. What a great lost for our department and your families. Our department has a strong kinship but we grieve along with your family, for all that could have been.
To the Chavez family, our prayer and thoughts are with you. To the Troopers and PCOs in the Valley, where Trooper Chavez worked alongside with his brother, others in our large state share your pain and emotions. May God lend a comforting hand and be with you during this trying times.
