Reflections for Police Officer Jeremy Preston "Jay" Chambers

Hi Son,

With everyday passing it is longer and longer since we got to see you or talk with you. We still think about you everyday and love you. You will never be forgotten.

My thoughts go out to you and all of your loved ones on this special day, Police Officer Memorial Day. Continue to keep watch over all of your loved ones. Someone recently sent me this quote and I'd like to leave it for your parents for I also walk in their shoes:

"The sense of loss does not diminish with time. In truth, the expression 'time heals all wounds' is a myth. For parents, the loss of a child is permanent and mental scar tissue really does not grow over the grim memory. Rather, all tears are expended and a dull ache remains."

You will never be forgotten.

Thinking of you and all of your loved ones. Continue to keep watch over all of them. Today will make it 4 years that you were called away from duty and for some individuals it has felt like just yesterday they saw your smile, felt your warm touch and heard your voice. For others it has felt like a lifetime as they carry on with out you in their daily lives. You have not been forgotten.

Hi Son,

Tomorrow, the 24th, will be 4 years you have been gone from us. We know in spirit you are with us everyday and watch over all of us as our guardian angel. It is not the same as having you in our presence. Everyone misses you very much and we all love you. I know it is hard to believe that you are not here and we still expect you to call us any day.

Love, Dad

I thought of you today so I decided to come on here.I haven't been on since your birthday.I started to scroll back on some of the pages from almost three years ago and I was looking at what all I had written.I haven't really written anything lately because what I want to say, I don't want other people to read it.If anybody goes on facebook and searches "remember officer Jeremy Chambers" You will pop up and I made a page just for you.It has 638 members so far and I put it up in July.It just reassures me that you have not been forgotten. I didn't want to come on here and just write about what a hard time I am having, but I guess I just did. There is seriously not a day that goes by that I don't think about you.I wear your picture around my neck, and it makes me feel like I am being watched over.I love you(: and miss you terribly:(

As one of our STL officers fell last night I thought of you today as I am formerly from Cahokia.

I hope you know how many people you have touched...as a person and as an officer who served and protected his community. You gave the ultimate sacrifice and we are grateful for your service.

God Bless your family...may He watch over and protect them. As well as your brothers and sisters in Blue.

Jay,
Another school year has begun and Logan is in Drivers Ed...If ever that child needed a guardian angel it is now. I can't believe she is getting to be so grown up. Garrett is loving school as always(you know he hates it). He had a poster to do for school about himself and he always finds a way to include you in it. Hayden well she is not shy anymore. I know you wouldn't believe it if you seen her now.
Bottom Line is that I can't believe you are not here to share all of this stuff with us. I know you are in a better place but it still does not make it fair. We all miss you so much. I love you.

Jay,
Happy 4th of July. I know how much you loved this holiday. You loved the patriotism, but you also loved the fireworks. Well, I must say Garrett has taken after you. He has all his fireworks lined up. He knows which one is going to be the grand finale. If there is fire he is there. Sometimes I can't believe how much time has passed since you were taken from us. It seems like forever since I talked to you last. I hope you know how much we love you and miss you everyday. I am sure the fireworks in heaven are beautiful. I love you......Denise
