My God quickly heal the pain of loss to your family, friends, and fellow officers. A true statement from one of my favorite songs: "It's not what you take when you leave this world behind you, it's what you leave behind you when you go." That's what matters. Thank you Officer Chambers for your willingness to do a most need, and most unwanted service to your fellow man.

I did not have the prividge of knowing this fine officer and wish I would have. I was afforded the opportunity to attend your services. I know that you were up in heaven watching down on all of us. It was one of the most emotional services I have ever been too. You were loved by many, and admired by all. Our prayers are with your family and friends during this hard time. I know that you will be watching over all your brothers and sisters, police officers, firefighters, and EMT's alike. Thank you and God Bless

But I belive you know this becuase you were watching from above. Next week I will begin teaching the D.A.R.E. program to the 7th & 8th graders at St.James Catholic School. I will remind them of your sacrifice and we will dedicate this D.A.R.E. class in your honor.

I can't believe you're gone, it just doesn't seem real no matter how many times that fateful day is recalled. We weren't very close, but I was lucky enough to have shared a few great times with you and I thank you for those wonderful memories. There isn't enough that can be said about the impact you have made in so many lives or how you were an angel long before now. You are missed terribly!!! We all know that you are still watching over us up there just as you did while down here. My deepest sympathies to your family and all your brothers and sisters on the police and fire dept. We will never forget you.

Reality

Imagine how our world would be
If every police officer quit
Turned in their gun, turned in their badge,
Just finally had enough of it.

No respect, no loyalty,
No appreciation of all they do,
They’d give their lives for all of us,
These wonderful officers of “Blue”.

Kicked at, spit on,
Punched, stabbed and shot,
Everyday assaults on officers,
Done…without thinking a second thought!

Our laws are in favor of criminals,
There’s always some loophole in their case,
Out again to commit more crimes and murders
…creates pain, that we, the family and friends
…in time will never erase.

Why should they do it?
Why take the risk?
Why put their life on the line?
Subject their loved ones to endless suffering,
When their precious life is lost while fighting crime.

More murders, more kidnappings, more robberies and rapes,
Just to mention a few,
Please ask yourself how life would be,
If there were NO officers in Blue!

Would you do it? Could you do it?
And for how many…would YOU give it all?
Rewards are a 21 gun salute, a Medal of Honor,
And your name gets added to the Wall.

Think about it. Why are they here?
And why do some hate them so?
Because they enforce the laws that put convicts and murderers
In jail serving time, or on “Death Row”.

All give some and some give all,
It’s a risk they chose to take:
To put their heart and soul in it,
To put their lives at stake.

So, please take a moment,
Please give it deep thought,
Think of what “you can do”…

To help show respect,
To help follow the laws,
So we’d quit losing our Heroes in Blue!

I am so sorry to learn of your death as a result of a traffic crash with an impaired driver. I've been a sworn officer since 1979. I've seen too many of these crashes change the lives of those that live, as well as the survivors left behind when their loved one is killed. To your father and brother, I know something of the pain you are going through. On May 12, 2006 my daughter was killed instantly by an impaired driver. Jeremy, she was almost your age at 24. Maybe you'll see her in heaven. If so, tell her her dad misses her terribly. May you rest easy now, son. Thank you for your service.
