Jeremy,
Thank you for the times you backed me up when I was on traffic stops on IL3 and in Sauget--a true brother officer. My thoughts and prayers are with the Chambers family and loved ones, the Cahokia Police Dept. and the Cahokia Fire Dept. I was an assist officer at the crash. I spoke to your Mom and Dad and told them the truth on what happened--not the falshood the media is portraying. You will be dearly missed C101. Rest in peace brother.

In Valor there is Hope. Rest In Peace, Brother.
Policeman's 23rd Psalm

The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want,
His comforting hand reduces fear to naught;
He makes me walk through streets of crime,
But He gives me courage and peace of mind.

He leads me by still waters in the path I trod,
And He says in Romans I'm a "minister of God,"
He leads me in righteousness as He restores my soul,
For His name's sake He keeps me whole.

When I walk through death's valley, right up to the door,
I will fear no evil, for He comforts me more;
For Thou art with me every step of the way,
As thy rod and thy staff protect me each day.

He prepares a table, especially for me,
As I work daily among life's enemies;
He gives me authority to uphold the law,
And He anoints my position in the midst of it all.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me,
Each day of my life through eternity;
As I long to hear Him say, "Well done...,"
When I lay down my life, my badge, and my gun.

My most heartfelt condolences to the family, friends and fellow officers of Officer Chambers. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

This is a very painful journey that none of us were prepared to take. Please take comfort in knowing that you do not walk this path alone, but with many others who have suffered similar losses. We are all in this together.

Thank you, Officer Chambers, for your service and ultimate sacrifice. May God bless you and may you rest in eternal peace, forever safe in the arms of the angels.

Jeremy

A week has passed and it all still seems so unreal. The call from Cpt. Purcell...the accident scene...the hospital...standing next to you in ICU when you went home to God...it all still seems so unreal to me.

You were my training officer on the fire department. The hours you spent with this priest teaching me how to pump and drive a fire truck. The fire calls that have always been a vague memory are now ever more vivid in my mind. You were my Captain at Engine House 2 - the crew nights, the laughs and the serious times come together to make a scrapbook of wonderful memories. And yes, I do remember you dressing up as a member of KISS at a FD Dance one year.

I remember the day you were hired at the Police Department. Nothing could wipe the smile from your face...you had achieved what you had always desired. You were one of the best. Your dedication to protecting and serving others will not be forgotten.

Words can not fully express my sadness...the loss of a friend, a police officer and a fire fighter.

Rest well, my friend, until we see each other again.

Chaplain, Cahokia Police Department

Words cannot express the sadness I feel and the sorrow I feel for your family. Your father was my Captain and your brother was my dispatcher when I began serving as a police officer here in Cahokia. You dedicated your life to helping others through your service as a firefighter and EMT but that wasn't enough. You wanted to follow in the footsteps of your family and expand your dedication to include police work. Jeremy, you were much too young to make the ultimate sacrifice. All of us know it could happen to us on any given day but that does not make it any easier when it does happen. Just know that you left this earth a hero and you will never be forgotten. Rest in peace my brother, I hope to see you again when the time comes.

Jeremy,
Along with the rest of your brothers in blue, I have shed many tears from the time Father Mark advised us of your passing on that awful morning outside the hospital. There has not been a moment go by that you do not cross my mind. I just want you to know that you are a MODEL POLICE OFFICER!!!! Everything you done, you done with pride and professionlism. You have not and will not leave my memory where I hold our friendship close to my heart. Your are with out a doubt AWSOME and what other young officers should strive to be like. I will miss you dearly and miss our talks that we shared in the squad room. Thank you for your service to the village of Cahokia and I will promise that your memory will not be forgotten. Rest in peace brother and I will see you again someday when God calls me to go "10-42" for the last time. Until then I know that I have a guardian angel looking down on me and the rest of us in blue.

Your Brother in Blue,

God bless you Jeremy. I can not find the right words to describe how very sorry I am that this has happened. You were a good person who always had a great outlook on life and who brought a smile to many a face. The epitome of a good son, brother and police officer whom I am proud to have known. May God bless you and your family.
