It was truly an honor to know Craig Todeschini, as a fellow 187th session NYSP classmate and as a fellow Troop D Trooper. Craig and I were partners on Saturday April 22, 2006 assigned to Operation Impact in the City of Syracuse, the night before his tragic accident. It was good to catch up with Craig on old academy stories and to hear how proud he was about the upcoming birth of his daughter. We laughed, we had pizza together, we talked about his service at the Solvay FD and even stopped by the Fire Department for a little break. We then continued on patrol in Syracuse and kept busy until the end of tour at 4 AM. I will miss Craig. He was truly a hero, dedicated husband, Trooper and Firefighter, respected brother, son, friend, and soon to be father. He was always smiling and simply a joy to be around. My deepest sympathy goes out to his wife and family for their loss. Godspeed Craig. Until we meet again, my friend!!

I love you buddy from day one I knew you were something special. The joy on your face back in high school when you used to hear that scanner go off and watch you hop on your bike or jump in the car to fly to the fire department just to get to the call was such a pleasure to experience. I never to this day met anyone so dedicated to their passion; have it be 4 in the morning responding to a call when school was at 8 or watching you drive by in your dads car with the blue lite on just knowing you were gonna have a exciting story for us later that day. I will miss you and will be praying for your family.

A poem for his unborn child and to his wife.

Although he is up in heaven protecting us all....remember he will live forever in your heart and in your mind....

A Parent's Wish

G-d called another angel to his gate.
Don't be sad or mourn too long as
I still live within your heart

So when you are lost---look up,
When you are confused--look up,
And if you are sadden--look up

As I am here watching over you:
Sharing in your joys and sorrow.
As you throw that ball or
run down the field, I'll know

And when you succeed at school
Or have that "first" real date,
I'lll know

Or when the love of your
Life walks in, I'll know

Remember this my young friend
Never forget how special you are to me
nor the fact, I wanted you in my life

Just because I'm not here,
I still live within your heart;
'cause G-d called another angel to his gate.

Don't think of them as gone away,
their journey has just begun.
Life holds so many facets,
this Earth is only one.
Just think of them as resting,
from the sorrows and the tears,
in a place of warmth and comfort,
where there are no days or years.
Think of how they must be wishing,
that we could know today,
how nothing but our sadness can really pass away.
And think of them as living in the hearts of those they touched,
for nothing loved is ever lost,
and they were loved so much.

May God comfort the Todeschini Family and all who are grieving at this time.

"Goodnight, my angel,
time to close your eyes
And save these questions
for another day.

I think I know what you’ve been asking me;
I think you know what I’ve been trying to say.

I promised I would never leave you,
And you should always know,
wherever you may go,
No matter where you are,
I will never be far away.

Goodnight, my angel,
now it’s time to sleep,
And still so many things
I want to say.

Remember all the songs you sang for me
When we went sailing
on an emerald bay?

And like a boat out on the ocean,
I’m rocking you to sleep.
The water’s dark, and deep
inside this ancient heart,
You’ll always be a part of me.

Goodnight, my angel,
now it’s time to dream,
And dream how wonderful
your life will be.

Someday your child may cry,
and if you sing this lullaby,
Then in your heart
there will always be
a part of me.

Someday we’ll all be gone,
but lullabies go on and on . . .

They never die.

That’s how you and I
will be.
