THANK YOU FOR YOUR SELFLESS SACRIFICE SO THAT MYSELF, MY CHILDREN AND MY GRANDCHILDREN CAN KNOW WHAT THE TRUE MEANING OF AMERICAN HERO IS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Det. Zadroga, your willingness to sacrifice your own safety and eventually your life helped many families continue to enjoy each others company today.
9-11 was a day that the world was able to see that the men and women in the emergency services field are not only heros, but ordinary people with emotions too. I hope someone will take the time to explain to your daughter why you died and how it was not in vain. And that you died doing what many people don't and cannot do. Yet they criticize our work.
You are an incredibly brave soul and your actions will never be forgotten. Rest in peace and be assured with a 'family of cops', your daughter will always be taken care.

“REMEMBER ME”
Law enforcement officers are, indeed, a special breed of people. Ask anyone on the street and they will tell you that they would not have our jobs for anything in the world. It takes something special to do what we do and at the same time be able to even contemplate retirement. We try to be optimists. Unfortunately, there are a few of us who will never make that date with retirement. By the very nature of our job, we are at risk everyday of losing our lives, either at the hand of some deranged individual or in some other situation that we, by virtue of our occupation, may be unable to avoid. Some people have recognized the hazardous duties we involve ourselves in, the risks we take, and the pride we take in accomplishing that job. There is National Law Enforcement Week, dedicated to us who gladly accept the responsibility of protecting the citizens in our respective jurisdictions. National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Day is dedicated to those who gave their lives in the line of duty. These are but two examples of remembrances specifically for law enforcement personnel. Remembrances that come but once a year. We should remind fellow officers of another type of remembrance, one that will last a lifetime. Sooner or later, a doctor will pronounce us dead. It is inevitable. Regardless of whatever happens, death is the end we will all have to face.

The bastards got another one.

My heart goes out to the family, friends and co-workers of Detective Zadroga. Your efforts on behalf of your brothers in blue, the firefighters and civilians who you and others believed might still have a chance of survival was selfless and courageous. You and all who shook off the initial shock and horror and went right in attempting to save others are heroes in the truest sense of the word.

I believe that you are now with the rest of the fallen heroes of that awful day and you are all watching over us and keeping us safe.

God Bless and Rest in Peace, brother.

Detective Zadroga,
I've ridden in the America's 911 Ride for the past two years as a way to honor everyone killed 9-11-01. This year I won't be riding but you will be in my thoughts as you have joined the other heroes killed on that dreadful day. May you rest in peace now without suffering and may the Lord comfort your family as they try to continue without you. I pray that your little girl will grow up knowing what a hero her Daddy was. Thanks for your sacrifice! You will never be forgotten.
