I learned recently that Lt. Studebaker was my great-grandmother Mabel's brother. I had previously been unaware of any other LEOs in my family and was pleased to hear about Lt. Studebaker, but not of untimely departure from this world. "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called the children of God." (Matthew 5:9)

To fully appreciate the heroes of the present, we must recognize our heroes of the past. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 56th anniversary year of your death. I am privileged to leave a tribute to you. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service.

My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace.

I am the niece of Noah Studebaker. Since I was only nine years old when he was shot, my memories of "Uncle Studie" are not so much as a policeman but as an uncle and my buddie. I was "Sugar" to him.
It was, as I grew older that I respected his career as a police officer. Uncle Studie has a special place in my heart and will never be forgotten.

I am the only child of Lieutenant Noah D. Studebaker. I was just six days short of turning fourteen when my father was shot. Our lives changed that night but I never heard my father complain. He loved his job.
My family and I would like to thank Chief Wayne Willcox, the Piqua Ohio Police Department and all the persons responsible for my father receiving this honor. We are so proud and so grateful.
