tom is very special to me... he is one of a kind in the NIS service. he came to my house even at late night taking some notes while having a cup of coffee. when he left PI, i was sad and try not to work with some of his replacements but then he came back for me to talk and urged me to help the agency. while he was at the USS Roosevelt, he always communicate with me sending some pictures of the ship. i am deeply touch by his heart that even now, i missed him and remembered him and will continue to help the agency he was working with. i am his ally, friend and civvy asset during his stint in the PI. Tom, may we see each other again in other time and place.... mabuhay ka... kaibigan

Tommy had the best hands I have ever seen in college baseball, bar none. One of the best athletes I have ever known. I honestly have never heard anyone say anything bad about him. Not one word. He was that well liked and respected.

Tommy was a special human being who led by the passion he had for the game. We played together for 3 years and we both enjoyed our best personal season at the same time. I was so happy for him as I know he was for me.

His big smile and the kind soul that he was will be remembered by those who were lucky enough to know him. Be it a teammate, fellow investigator or just a friend, he made time for everyone. R.I.P. my friend.

Lord I ask for courage, courage to face and conquer my own fears. Courage to take me to places others will not go. I ask for strenght. Strengh in body to protect others and strenght in spirit to lead others. I ask for dedication, dedication to do my job and do it well. Dedication to my community to keep it safe.
May the lord Jesus Christ help and guide the Marzilli family in this difficult time.

"The Badge"

He starts his shift each day
To respond to calls unknown.
He drives a marked patrol car.
A police officer he is known.

He's paid by the citizens' taxes
To make it safe on the streets.
But he usually has a second job
'Cause a waitress has his salary beat.

Now he doesn't know a holiday
'Cause he works all year round.
And when Thanksgiving and Christmas finally arrive
At his home he cannot be found.

He's cursed and assaulted often,
The one whos blood runs blue.
He seldom ever gets a thanks,
To some he's just a fool.

His friends are always other cops
'Cause people just don't understand
That underneath his badge and gun,
He's just another man.

He knows there might not be a tomorrow
In this world of drugs and crime.
And he gets so mad at the court system
'Cause the crooks don't get any time.

And each day when he leaves for work,
He prays to God above.
Please bring me home after my shift
So I can see the ones I love.

But tonight he stops a speeding car,
He's alone down this ole' highway.
It's just a little traffic infraction.
He does it everyday.

Well, he walks up to the driver's window,
And his badge is shining bright.
He asked the guy for a driver's license,
When a shot rang through the night.

Yes, the bullet hit its mark,
Striking the officer in the chest.
But the Department's budget didn't buy
Each officer a bullet-proof vest.

So he lay on the ground bleeding.
His blood wasn't blue - His blood was red.
And briefly he thought of his loved ones
'Cause in a moment the officer was dead.

In the news they told the story
Of how this officer had died.
And some who listened cared less,
But those who loved him cried.

Well, they buried him in uniform
With his badge pinned on his chest.
He even had his revolver,
He died doing his best.

I had the distict pleasure of serving with Tom in London. Tom and his family took me in as his own, while stationed overseas away from my home. Commonly having dinner and a beer after games, and great conversations about the sport we both love. He was an absoluely incredible person and will be sorely missed.

Rest in Peace my Friend...Clinton G. Waldorf USN

Tom, I didn't have the luxury of knowing you for very long, but you left a lasting impression on me. No matter how busy, you always found the time to smile and say more than just hello.

Thank you for your service to our country!

Not only was Tom a fantastic agent, he was also the greatest uncle a nephew could have ever hoped for. I think about him daily and I miss him so much.

Thanks to all who post here. It helps to hear from you all.

Tom Marzilli was the best ambassador any law enforcement agency could wish for. In his posting to London, he raised the profile of the NCIS to the extent that they fast became the best US point of contact for all UK Police agencies.

Tom was one of the nicest guys I've ever had the pleasure to work with, on all levels, professional, socially, and personally. He is greatly missed by all who knew him.
