Family, Friends & Fellow Officers Remember...

I was talking about you today and pulled up this page. I visit once in a while. Not as much as in the beginning and certainly with a lot less raw emotion. Today though, when I saw your twinkling eyes and big smile, I had to walk away to pull myself together. Some moments throw you right back into the early, unbearable days of grief. The person I told about you was so kind. I think that made the lump in my throat larger. Hours later, I'm still in a place of missing you more than I have in a long time. I guess this is what grief looks like, 13 and a half years in.

Anyway. I don't have much to say, just the same-old, same-old: I miss you. I miss your face, eyes and smile, but I also miss your jokes, laugh and your ability to make me feel that everything is going to be okay.

Please watch over all of us and send signs when you can, and remember that I will always love you.
