To the family of James (Jimmy) McGrane Jr.:
Even though I never met your son, please let me assure you that his loss is felt, not only by your family, but by the "emergency services family."
As a former 911 dispatcher, I appreciate the sacrifices made by James McGrane Jr. and all of our other officers and deputies.
May James McGrane Jr. rest in peace.
May his family find peace.
May the individual who caused this tragedy be swiftly brought to justice.
And may all other emergency services personnel remain safe as they continue their service to their communities.

As I stood at your service with my husband who is also an officer and all the other officers around me I saw the reality of how close a family we all are. We were there for you because you are a part of our family. We are all so very proud of you James and what you stand for. As I looked at my husband I appreciated him more now then ever because he loves his job and what it stands for, just as you did. My deepest thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. We will never forget you and you will always be in our heart.

He wore the uniform and badge with courage, he studied hard to pass the test.
He took and oath of honor to protect, seprating him from all the rest
He stood tall with uniform pressed, serving a warning to all the wrong.
He kept our home and family safe and helped to make our community strong.
He risked his life day and night, to protect our children on his beat.
We ask, You Lord, to keep his brothers and sisters safe, the brave police officers on the street.
Thank you for a job well done!
May you rest in peace, Officer McGrane.

Thank you, Deputy McGrane for being there for all of us for so many years, watching over our lives, our property and our roads as we slept, worked, played and went on with our lives. Now I ask you please keep your watch over those who are now hunting for the person(s) responsible for cutting your time with us short. Keep them safe from harm as they seek to prevent further deaths and grief. God bless you, rest in peace. Your job on earth was well done.

To the family of McGrane you are all in my thoughts and prayers. Both my parents are in Law Enforcement so I can not even begain to feel your pain. But any fallen officer hits home we are all family.
Among us, sent down from Heaven,
Are those that walk a Thin Blue Line, that's a given.
Like Guardian Angel's to watch over me and you.
Are those that wear the uniform of blue.
We see them only as traffic stops,
We do not call them friends, just cops.
We pray we never have a chance meeting,
We never pass along a greeting.
But they are so much more than this,
They simply do not see the world as bliss.
But they look into the corners of our deepest fear,
They walk the beat, they dry a tear.
They bring a message to our home,
When all is not well, and we are alone.
They come to us, no matter the need,
Handle the problem, complete the deed.
They lay their personal feelings aside,
They do their job, they have great pride.
And if one should fall among life's things,
The badge they wear, turns into wings.

friends and fellow officers, I wish you the comfort of knowing that he is in heaven with God and that you will all see him again someday.God bless him for giving his life for us all! My former husband was with BCSO for 22 yrs. and I can testify that they are really super people who really care about the people they protect.
