All to often I find myself reading of yet another officers untimely death. Police Officer Matthew Melchionda has paid the highest price to serve and protect and for that we are all humbled. To the Family of the Melchionda's my deepest sympathy goes out to you. I've known your family for sometime now and graduated high school with David.I know words can't take away the pain ,but Matt was truly an "Original Guy". He always had a big smile and, made sure I was making progress towards becoming a police officer. I looked up to Matt for advice like a mentor.
