Your heroism and service is honored today, the 89th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never dimishes respect, and your memory will always be honored and revered. I am sure you are proud that your family continued your legacy of protecting and serving.

Rest In Peace

Patrolman Lewis William James,

The duties of a law officer are many and the stress of protecting others is always present. To have been performing any duty that porvides and ensures the safety of the public, and having died in the process, deems you a hero. We remember you this day for your dedication to others and your commitment to our creed as soldiers of the law. Rest in peace knowing you have done well.

My mother would tell me how tall and handsome her Dad was in his uniform and how sad she was when he died. Even thought I never met you, my mother kept your memory alive with stories and I am very happy that I was able to see that you have finally been honored....... Granddaughter Sharon Williams

Dear Grandfather, From your son's lips to my ears...the stories of growing up in Scranton: The stories of his mother coming from Wales and you being a police officer and your untimely death, remain with me. I'm so very happy to have been a small part of your final story. Love, Your Granddaughter.

Although I was born more than 32 years after your death, I must have inherited some of your spirit along with your name. My father always told me that your ambition was to make Detective, but you died before you were able to. My ambition was also to make Detective, as much for you and my father as for me. I did make it -- but three years after my father died. So please do me a favor -- next time you see your son, tell him that his son finally earned the gold badge. Rest in Peace, I've got the watch for now...
