Street, it's been a year already and it still doesn't seem true. I'm away from home still, so the last time I visited your resting place was last year on Easter Sunday when I was home in April. I visited you in my uniform and left you my cover (cap), I hope you saw that and are as proud of me as I am of you. I will be home again soon and I will be sure to stop by again. The other day I replied to an email you wrote me last year, just because it felt like I was talking to you. Everytime I see you in the newspaper I want to cry, and then I have a bad day, out of anger and sadness. I miss the emails you used to send me, since that was our only means of communication being so far apart. I love you brother! Thanks for watching over all of us this past year.

Tomorrow is a year that you have been gone, and it has not gotten any easier to deal with!! I miss you with all my heart, and I think about you everyday!! Hey my love! Gosh it has already been a year since you were taken from us. I still can't believe it and it still just doesn't even seem real. I hope you can see how loved you are even though you are not here with us. We still think about you all the time and miss you dearly. The medallion still sits framed on my desk...its gotten alot of compliments by the way! HAHA! Its always brings a smile to my face and I can still hear you say, "Look...its the MEDALLION!"

I made sure I made it to Patin's this year for Mardi Gras! It made me so upset when you fussed me last year that I had better be there and wasn't. It would have been the last time I saw you and I missed out on it. Some of the guys were upset & were angry you weren't there w/ us. I told them how upset I was with myself b/c I hadn't made it last year & told them that I made sure I went this year b/c I know you would have been there & would want us all to have fun. Indeed, I had so much fun! I just knew that you were there sharing in the fun w/ us! Every day has been hard for all of your family and friends, but tomorrow will be REALLY hard. Please give us all your strength so that we can all stay strong. I know you will. Just remember that we love you & miss you & will NEVER forget you! Sweetdreams, Lovey! =)

I just recenttly learned of this web site because one of our own brothers here in Calcasieu Parish, Deputy Alan Inzer, died in the line of duty. I observed the sentencing today of Byron Meads...I heard this officer's Sheriff and family speak of the greatest loss in their lives. Be proud of your son, nephew, brother and brother in "blue!" Our parish will not forget the hero Jeremy was!
