I did not know Trooper Sperr, but I travel constantly through Big Flats and Elmira on my way to western NY State. I am proud to have known that he was protecting my family each time we passed through his zone. My condolences to his family, and their sacrifice that he and they made on that day. My heart goes out to them.

To the family and co-workers of Trooper Sperr, our deepest regards and sympathy. It angers me that another trooper has lost his life, and another agency has lost a brother. May all that know and love Trooper Sperr find comfort in each other and may he rest in peace in the arms of the Lord. God-speed.

In a world where terrible things take place everyday, Heroes like yourself, let the rest of us know that someone is looking after us. Being a young trooper, I will honor your memory by being the best trooper I can be, and to never dishonor the uniform. I know the sacrifice you made for people of the State of New York was the ulitimate price for your family and friends, But I will do my best to make sure it doesnt go un-noticed. God Bless the Sperr family!
