Our deepest, heartwarming feelings from your brothers in blue from Philadelphia Penna.

Questions?

Why do you put that thing over your heart
Before each tour of duty, you do start?

Why do you work so much
And miss my parties and such?

When I go to bed at night, most of the time your away

I hope you will be home soon, and this time you must
stay!

Why are the bad guys the ones that you chase
Is it to make our world a much safer place?

What is the title of your job, is it Agent, Sheriff
or Cop?
If it is any of these law enforcement people, please
don't stop!

There is only one reason for us to feel safe,
Knowing that people like you are in place!

Lord,
He was yours to give,
and yours to call home,
please stand by his brothers,
so they don't feel alone,
dry the tears of his family,
so they clearly see:
that he gave his all,
so all could have peace.
Blessed are they,
the children of God,
with heavy hearts,
and honor - they trod,
to pay their respects,
to give their salute,
and to ask for your mercy,
on heroes in Blue.
Amen.

Joseph, rest easy brother, we have the watch.

A Part Of America Died

Somebody killed a policeman today

And a part of America died…

A piece of our country he swore to protect

Will be buried with him at his side.

The beat that he walked was a battlefield, too,

Just as if he had gone off to war;

Though the flag of our nation won't fly at half-mast

To his name they will add a gold star.

The suspect that shot him will stand up in court

With counsel demanding his rights,

While a young widowed mother must work for her kids

And spend many long, lonely nights.

Yes, somebody killed a policeman today…

Maybe in your town or mine,

While we slept in comfort behind our locked doors

A cop put his life on the line.

Now his ghost walks the beat on a dark city street,

And he stands at each new rookie's side;

He answered the call… of himself gave his all,

And a part of America died…
