Reflections for Police Officer Joseph Daniel Corr
Officer Corr, I personally did not know you, but yet I felt the pain and sadness of your lost. On the night of the incident, and the subsequent annoucement of your death, we ( New York State Troopers ) felt great sadness. On the day of your funeral Officer Corr, we ( New York State Troopers, including Superintendent Wayne Bennett) stood proudly at your side, and we stood watch over you. We will continue to stand watch over you Joe, because of the ultimate sacrifice you gave, your life.
Officer Corr, we ( All Police Officers) will pray to our Lord God, that your soul will forever be a part of his kingdom, and may God bestow Love and Peace to your entire family.
Love from all members of the New York State Police and our families, to the family of Officer Corr which includes his brothers and sisters of the New Hartford Police Dept, Utica Police Dept and the County Sheriff's Dept.

I met Officer Corr in 12/01. He took what could have been a scary experience and made me feel as comfortable as possible. Officer Corr was in my book a true gentleman and someone who put others before himself. To this day I have the utmost respect for Officer Corr and my heart and prayers go out to his Wife, Daughter, Mother, Father, and rest of the Corr family.

It is always hard to read that police officers have been killed in the line of duty. It breaks my heart to read the love ones left behind, have strength, and remember they gave the ultimate sacrifice while doing what they love.

Joe, It was a great working with you. I am going to miss those times when you would come into dispatch and give me hell for not having your DWI arrest times ready and waiting for you. I enjoyed playing softball against you in the firemans league and with you at special events on the NHPD team. It means lot to me to belong to this agency. To Tracie and Kaitlyn, I am so sorry for your loss and if you need anything please call.

Joseph,
You lived the life others would envy. Not every Law Enforcement Officer can protect his community, off duty, like you did. Not every man is designed to be a Police Officer and Fire Fighter at the same time. We are a different kind of person.
I will pray for your family and Departments.

Mrs. Corr,
I am so sorry for your incredible loss. There are now words possible to ease your pain. I know you are hurting more than you could have probably ever imagined. You may be asking yourself how you are supposed to go on and not only that, you may be wondering how you are going to raise your baby by yourself. These are some of the questions I asked myself after my husband, Sgt. Jonathan Dragus was killed in the line of duty last October. Our baby boy was 5 months old when he died.
Everyday is still hard for me so I won't tell you that it gets better or easier, but surround yourself with people who love you and your husband and your baby. Lean on God. He will comfort you and give you strength. Focus on your beautiful baby girl and she will help you through. One day you will be able to smile and tell her that her daddy is a hero.
I will pray for you and your family and always remember that your husband is watching over you and your baby.
