***** Im Free ****
It broke our hearts to lose you,
but you did not go alone.

A part of us went with you,
the day God called you home.

Our family chain is broken and nothing seems the same, but God calls us all one by one, the chain will link again.

A million times we've needed you,
a million times we've cried.
If love could have only saved you,
you never would have died.

The Lord be with you and May you Rest in Peace.

Kyle, your kind heart and warm smile will be missed but it will never be forgotten. Till we meet again... Mary

I don't know if I've ever been this saddened, over such a loss. I can find some comfort in knowing that as God called for Kyle to take his place in heaven, he was surrounded by loving friends determined to keep him for just a little while more...despite our grief and overwhelming sense of loss, he is in a better place. I must believe this!!

Kyles smiling face is one I will never forget. Kyles sense of calm, humor, curiosity and respect for his fellow officers distinguishes him among his peers. Kyle was real. And I know his greatest aspiration was to be a great husband and father. Kyle brother, you always took the time to say hello and catch up on the latest, and you never ever forgot to smile. You left this earth far too soon for all of us to understand the reasons why, but I know you're already sharing your smile in heaven. I'll miss you, we'll all miss you. Rest In Peace brother.

My heart is broken at the news of Kyle's passing. My condolences go out to his wife, children and his parents and sister. I want the family to know that my memory of Kyle and his infectious personality matches the picture above. He was a charmer! We met and had a meal together at his sister Diana's wedding. I will keep all the family in my prayers and my tears join theirs in this tremendous and shocking loss. May God make His presence known to each one.

Lovingly, Gloria Graham

Hey Kyle- Recently thought about what a great time I had with you and Mike in Sacramento. Thunder Valley steaks and a bit of three-card poker! It was a pleasure to know you, if only for a few days. My smiling brother in blue-talking about the love for your wife and children. One of the guys I thought truely made people think that cops are allllllright. Thank you for your influence and brief, but distinct friendship. My thoughts are with you, your family and your grieving department. God bless.

1 Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God.
2 Therefore whoever resists the authority resists the ordinance of God, and those who resist will bring judgment on themselves.
3 For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to evil. Do you want to be unafraid of the authority? Do what is good, and you will have praise from the same.
4 For he is God's minister to you for good. But if you do evil, be afraid; for he does not bear the sword in vain; for he is God's minister, an avenger to execute wrath on him who practices evil.
Rom 13:1-4 NKJV

I hear that U.S. Marines guard the gates to Heaven but Cop's patrol the streets. Hope to see you when I get there, Bro.

Dear Kyle,
I can't believe you're gone! As I read all the other great reflections in this memorial... I see two things that everyone mentions when they think of you; your smile and laughter. You touched everyone, including me.
I want to go back in time... back to Thursday when I saw you in class. I want to go back to our conversation that morning. Even then you were the same ole Kyle I have always known... smiling, laughing and going out of your way to say hi, even after I told you I needed coffee... you laughed at me(with that great laugh of yours) and pointed me in the right direction. I want to go back in time and hug you, talk to you longer and tell you what a great person you are.
Words can not express how much you will be missed or how much I will miss you. God bless you Kyle and hopefully someday when we see each other again you can point me in the right direction again when I need help. I'm sure you'll have a big smile on your face.

Kyle-

You are one of the greatest men I have ever known; a natural born leader. Not only were you the epitome of what every officer should strive to be, you were a father every child deserves to have.

You blessed the hearts of all that met you. Your smile and thoughtfulness was unwavering no matter who crossed your path.

You were a true WARRIOR in every sense of the word and you blessed all of us with your kind heart.

Most of all, you and Laurie blessed the world with three beautiful sons that will surely grow to have your kind heart and fierce competative spirit that made you the person that everyone loved.

For those who did not know Kyle, let me say that he truly had the "IT FACTOR" and what an infectious smile. You couldn't help but smile right back and find yourself in a better place.
Kyle will "truly" be missed by all, but his spirit will live on in all of us!

Rest in Peace my friend till we meet again before our Heavenly Father.

Kyle -

Words can't express the sadness and loss I feel over your passing. Although we never worked an A car together, never even worked that closely together - you were such a great guy and a true joy to be around. Your jokes and laughter, your humility, your ability to make everything seem so effortless - was not only inspiring, it made me seek you out for conversation every time I saw you. You really were one of the most wonderful all-around guys I've ever had the pleasure of knowing. Always upbeat, always full of laughter and positive energy - you were just the best. I'm glad they posted a picture of you smiling - and not the solemn faced pictures that you always took with the SWAT team. In fact, I can't ever recall a time when you didn't have that big old Kyle Ballard grin on your face. I will forever remember you that way, laughing and joking, and talking proudly about your boys - and how cool they were. You just beamed every time you mentioned them.

I will of course remember Kyle as a great cop - one of the hard chargers - one of the "go to" guys. But it is my memory of Kyle as a father, and as a friend that makes this loss so unbearable. You will be forever missed, but never forgotten. Your life has touched us all. Until we see you again my friend....
