I'm grateful for the service of Office Jensen, and my heart is breaking for the loss to his family and the pain of his brothers-in-arms. I pray to our Father in Heaven for peace, solace, comfort and tender mercies for all of them.
To all other public servants, thank you for your personal sacrifice, for the dangers you face daily. God go with you.

I was at work today when my brother (a Colorado Springs Firefighter) called me and informed me of your passing. Eventhough we have never met, I know what your family, and brothers and sisters in blue are going through. Rest in peace, and I am sure you are up there, somewhere watching over us all.

Officer Jensen: Your senseless loss deeply affects your family and friends, but even reaches those of us who were not fortunate enough to have known you. Such senseless losses punctuate our careers and never go away. We might name parks, streets, and public buildings after our heroes, but we each have a little private shrine in our souls for our fallen comrades. Whenever we hear Taps, bagpipes,or a 21-gun salute, we go to that little corner of our soul and kneel in respect for those of you who gave all. Know that a piece of you will linger with us until we join you at the end of our watch. May God bless you and your family.

Dear Mrs. Jensen, Sgt. Jensen, The Entire Jensen Family, and the C.S.P.D.,
I am very sorry for your loss. When I heard the news, it took me back to 1999 when we lost one of our brothers in the line of duty. I was working, and from the time of the radio transmission untill the time we burried him was a blurr in time for us.
I tell you this because I want for you to do something for yourself. I want you to pick a great thing that you remember about Jared, and while you are riding along the street in the funeral procession, look out the window, look at the people in the community that are showing you support, look at the love that God is showering on you, and pick out a single thing to hold on to with that memory of Jared and do NOT let his day be a BLURR for you! GOD bless all of you, and may Officer Jared Jensen rest in peace in Heaven knowing that he served his community with great honor and the ultimate sacrifice.

Jared, nothing I can write here will even vaguely express how I feel about the profound sacrifice you made.
I'm sorry I don't have the words.
Just know that I'm honored to have been a member of the 43rd recruit class, your class. I'm honored to have trained with you, and deeply honored to have known you.
It's beyond my understanding that your time here was so very brief, especially when others much less worthy get to stay.
Whatever the reason, God knows and now you share in that divine and ultimate understanding. Treasured peace is now yours and no one deserves it more.

Jared:
We will miss you. You gave the ultimate sacrifice to a profession and a community you so dearly loved.
We might not have worked hand in hand on a daily basis but you left a reputation that spoke highly of you and the badge you wore. you leave a legacy for others to follow.
Words alone cannot express the loss for your agency, family, and fellow officers in the local law enforcement community.
You will be sorely missed and you can never be replaced.
From your family to the south, Our prayers are with you and your family at this sorrowful time. From all the officers and staff at the Fountain Police Department.
