Dan,
I’m saddened by your loss, humbled at your sacrifice and honored to know you. It is with great pride I say thank you. I’m blessed to have worked with you and I see from these postings your sacrifice extends beyond your patriotism for this country and our struggle for freedom. It has affected everyone who knows you Dan. You will be missed and forever remembered. Our thoughts are with your loved ones, especially your wife and little one. They too will be remembered, for their sacrifice is to carry on. Our prayers, though I know you’d give me that look, are with you and your family. Rest brother, your tour is complete.

Dan,
I reflect upon the many phone calls to you to work out tasking I had for your unit. You pressed on for the right answer as you did in the mission in Iraq. I pray God gives your family the strength to get through these trying times. Your devotion to duty will be missed.

I had the extreme honor to meet Dan at a JDET conference. He was eager, full of spirit and optimism. It was a joy seeing him work, and working with him. We've since worked with one another talking about Drup Ops, pushing paperwork, I2MS, the fun parts about the AFOSI agent life. Thank you Dan for the opportunity to have served with you. Even now, I still find myself re-reading our old emails every day. Your time has come, rest easy....your OSI family will ALWAYS be there for the one you've left behind. To his wife, his child, and his big and loving family. May your wounds heal as always with the grace of GOD. Thank you for blessing our lives with Dan's.

I'm not sure where to start. You’re an amazing person, who touched many lives. You were a strong, smart, caring person. It was an honor to have worked with you while in the academy and in Abilene. You helped me in a time of need, when I was having some trouble with my partner. You were always there if I needed to talk, or just needed a friend. You will be missed, but never forgotten. You are my hero. I know God wouldn't have taken you unless he needed you more. Your family is in my prayers.

Dan,
It was a true honor to have known you and to have served in the same command as you. As your classmate at FLETC, I thought you were such an amazing person who truly emboddied what it is to be a Special Agent. May you rest in peace and know that you are in the hearts and prayers of people who love and miss you.

I did not have the privilege or pleasure of knowing Dan personally, but have been made aware by my niece and nephew of this man's exemplary character as a husband, father, friend, and agent. To Dan's precious wife, little girl, extended family, co-workers, and friends: May you be comforted, even if in a small way for now, by all the joy and love that you shared with this wonderful man, and may God be gracious to you in easing your pain and bringing you peace. May you also be comforted to know that thousands of people who never even knew your loved one, and don't know you personally are praying for you and sending sincere and loving thoughts your way. God bless you....

Dan, where do I begin? We met in MD interviewing to become OSI Agents. We made it! One better... I had the honor of being your classmate. I am truly blessed to have shared that experience with you and become forever your friend. I leave with a poem.
'Out of the night that covers me as black as a pit from pole to pole, I thank whatever gods may be for my unconquerable soul. In the fell clutch of circumstance I have not winced nor cried aloud. Under the bludgeoinings of chance my head is bloody, but unbowed. Beyond this place of wrath and tears Looms but the Horror of the shade, and yet the menace of the years Finds, and shall find, me unafraid. It matters not how strait the gate, How charged with punsihments the scroll, I am the master of my fate: I am the captain of my soul.' ~Henley~
Rest in peace my brother...You will never be forgotten...

Words are not enough. Dan was a very strong support in my life in many ways. For me he wore many hats; father, friend, brother, counselor, mentor. These are merely a few. Dan is the most just, caring, and motivated person I have ever had the pleasure to know. I know that I am a better person for having met Dan and I hope through his teaching that I took to heart I will someday mature into the man that he was. He leaves a legacy behind that no other person can ever overshadow. I love Dan as a brother and my greatest hope is that the love will live on and I can spread the lessons in life the Dan left with me and all those he touched to others. I love you Dan and I know we all do. Your wife and daughter and the rest of your family are in my prayers.

Dan,
Where do I start!
Knowing you as a friend, co-worker and classmate has been my honor. Having the opportunity to sit and talk (long day and nights in GA and NJ) and learn from that extremely intelligent/witty mind of yours I have became a better man. I will miss you Dan you were a great friend.
You will never be forgotten my brother.
