To the family and friends of Trooper Jimmy Ray Carty Jr. and his fellow officers with the Texas Highway Patrol:
I was so saddened to learn of the terrible training accident that resulted in the tragic death of Trooper Carty.
May you be comforted and supported by your law enforcement family, and other police survivors. There are many who share this painful journey with you who will be by your side.
May God continue to watch over his young family.
This reflection is sent with the utmost respect for the seven years of distinquished service Trooper Carty gave to his community and the citizens of Texas and for the supreme sacrifice he and his family made on May 26, 2005.

Words can not say enough but, we mourn another hero that has been taken from us. If it was by accident or crimes against an officer it is a great loss. We will be praying for your family during these trying times. My deepest sympathy to the family, friends and co-workers. May the Lord give you strength and bless each of you during this time.
Remember these few verses from Psalm 23, The LORD [is] my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou [art] with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.
