Reflections for Trooper Kevin Carder Manion
Trooper Manion, thank you for your service as one of Virginia's finest. Even though I didn't know you personally, when I heard about your death last February I was saddened and thought about you and your family. All Troopers hold a special place in my heart. Even though you were working in Clarke County, I knew that you were originally from Bath and were a geography major in college. Since I am also a geography major and our hometowns are so close, today I was shocked when I realized that a scholarship I received in August from the VSPA was actually your memorial scholarship. It really meant a great deal to me when I found out, and I have to say that I'm proud to have been the recipient in order to honor your memory. Rest in peace and thank you for your service to Virginia.

May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face;
the rains fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again,
may God hold you in the palm of His hand.

Just wanted to send good thoughts to Trooper Manion's family and friends. I have a lot of friends in the law enforcement field, and most people don't realize the sacrifice they make on a daily basis. God Bless You Trooper Manion for making the ultimate sacrifice.

I come to the ODMP often to remember my late fiancé Dennis. Everytime I come here it breaks my heart to know that yet another officer has fallen and that yet another family has to live their lives without the man they loved. My heart goes out to everyone who knew and loved Trooper Manion. Know that you are not alone in the "journey" that you walk. Should you ever need anything please don't hesitate to contact me. The Davis Co. Sheriff's Office in Iowa will always know how to reach me. You will be in my thoughts.
From reading all the reflections left for Kevin, he sounds like he was a great man with a beautiful spirit. Those of you who knew him in life were so blessed to have been able to share in it. I hope that you will all continue to find a way to celebrate and remember Kevin's life and the MAN that he was. Remember that Kevin's life was about so much more than the way he died. Kevin will continue to live on as long as we continue to remember him.
Trooper Manion, thank you for helping to make this world a little safer for us all. YOU will not be forgotten. Please continue to watch over all of us as only you can. If you happen to bump into my fiancé Dennis up there give him a big hug for me and the kids. It's been three years but we still miss him terribly.
Wishing you brighter and better days,
Jocelyne :)

Sometimes God takes great people from this earth, leaving all of us to wonder why. Kevin Manion was a great person and a dedicated Trooper. We will all miss you, and my deepest sympathy goes out to all of your family. I just finished my in service this week, and I met up with a fellow class mate we graduated with, Trooper Molden. Kevin you should know we talked about you for a good while, rehashing memories and I am sure you already know this, but we all miss you greatly. Rest in peace my brother Trooper. 104th forever!
