Reflections for Trooper Kevin Carder Manion

My heart breaks for Trooper Manion's family/friends for I know the pain they are feeling. The VSP has always had a special place in my heart since I was a LEO in Va quite a few years back. I used to ride along with some of the troopers in the Yorktown/Williamsburg area. I'm glad to see that Trooper Manion was a christian...he is now spending the rest of his days in the presence of our Lord. I'm sure you've met up with Calvin by now on the pearly streets...give him a hug for me! I pray that God will wrap his loving arms around your family & carry them through the rest of their days.

My family would like to send our heartfelt sympathy to the family, fellow officers, coworkers, and friends of Trooper Manion. My brother also tragically died while in the line of duty responding to a domestic call on Friday 02-10-2006. We all feel the pain and anguish you are going through. Our hero's now walk the streets of gold and will continue to watch over their fellow officers left here to continue to fight the battles not yet won. Rest In Peace Trooper Manion. True are the men in blue; our hero's may be gone, but will never be forgotten.

To the family and friends of Trooper Kevin Manion and his fellow officers with the Virginia State Police:

I was so saddened to learn of the tragic and untimely line of duty death of this young officer. His dedication and valor will not be forgotten.

May you be comforted and supported by your law enforcement family, and other police survivors. There are many who share this painful journey with you who will be by your side.

This reflection is sent with the utmost respect for the service Kevin gave to his community and the citizens of Virginia and for the supreme sacrifice he and his family made on February 18, 2006.

May God Bless Kevin's family...........Nothing more need be said except we grieve for the loss of a brother and fallen comrade. But our loss pales in comparison to the loss of a son. May comfort in some way find Kevin's family, his friends, and all those whom his life touched.......

Lord I ask for courage

Courage to face and
Conquer my own fears...

Courage to take me
Where others will not go...

I ask for strength

Strength of body to protect others
And strength of spirit to lead others...

I ask for dedication

Dedication to my job, to do it well
Dedication to my community
To keep it safe...

Give me Lord, concern
For others who trust me
And compassion for those who need me...

And please Lord

Through it all
Be at my side...

Words can not say enough but, we mourn another hero that has been taken from us. If it was by accident or crimes against an officer it is a great loss. We will be praying for your family during these trying times. My deepest sympathy to the family, friends and co-workers. May the Lord give you strength and bless each of you during this time.
Remember these few verses from Psalm 23, The LORD [is] my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou [art] with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.
