Reflections for Trooper Kevin Carder Manion
Kevin,
It was an honor being your supervisor and having you in Area 13 as a Trooper and a member of our family. Though you will no longer be working beside us, I know you will be watching over our area and making us continue on with our duties to protect and serve.

His days always began with a "10-41", he was always ready to take on more crime.
The same routine for the past eight months, but he got used to it over time.
Day in and day out he gave it his all and he did his best.
Never stopping to think that this could be the last time he straps on his bulletproof vest.
Another day passes and once again he has protected and served.
But never once really getting the full recognition he deserved.
He had a full life but there was so much left for him to do.
But on Saturday, February 18, 2006, "870" made his Final "10-42"

No amount of words from any of us can ease your grief and suffering at the lost of your son, and bother officer. But remain strong in your faith and know god as a plan for us all. Take comforted in knowing you will see Kevin again as we walk the streets of heaven. To the family of trooper Kevin C. Manion I pray that our Heavenly Father may assuage the anguish of your bereavement, and leave you only the cherished memory of the loved and lost, and the solemn pride that must be yours to have laid so costly a sacrifice upon the altar of freedom. All the law enforcement community across the country feels you’re lost as well, we to have lost a bother in the fight. So it’s with a heavy heart we send our deepest sympathy to your family and the Virginia State Police. Rest in peace Kevin, you may be gone but know you will never be forgotten.

We LEO's know there's no such thing as a routine traffic stop. Now I guess there's no such thing as a routine traffic accident job. Gone only three years into his career. What a shame. I hope he didn't suffer. God Bless Him, and may he Rest in Peace.

The Lord is my Shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures:
He leadeth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul:
He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His name' sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil: For thou art with me;
Thy rod and thy staff, they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies;
Thou annointest my head with oil; My cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the House of the Lord forever.
