Fellow brother,
Today as I sat in "A" watch briefing with the rest of our brothers and sisters, we heard the tragic news that one of our own had once again laid down the ultimate sacrifce. Your news hits hard to every law enforcement member especially the CHP family. I pray everday that none of us will ever leave our careers in such a tragic way but we know nothing is gaurenteed. This is what makes us different from other professions, your life and service will continue through us (Officers), I will always keep you in my prayers and I hope one day the your family will find peace. God speed .

I know of no words that will suffice. However, I would like for the family, friends and co-workers to know that there are folks all across this country that will lift you up in prayer before the Almighty. May you each experience the eternal love and endless blessings of our Lord and Savior.
I am so very, very sorry.

Earl, it seem like just yesterday that we would all get together, have a beer, and tell war stories. Over the years you became a part of the Modesto Police Department family, and a good friend to many. Seven years ago we convinced you to become a Police Reserve with our agency and you served us well. You went on to the CHP like your father before you, but you will always be a member of our family as well. My platoon stayed after their shift was over trying to find your killer this morning. Today (1-17-06) I had briefing and we talked about past moments we all shared with you. Your loss has shaken us, but we must endure. We actually told some of the things you did to make us laugh, and some war stories. You honored our profession and the uniform you wore. We miss you, and pray for you and your family. God Bless you Earl, Your friend , Robert Stewart MPD

We are so sorry to here about your tragic loss of a loved one in law enforcement. Our thoughts and prayers go out to you in support. As we personally know, sometimes there is little comfort that comes from words. Keep focused as you can on the memories and joyous times for these things may bring you comfort. Rely heavily on family, friends, and other law enforcement. Honor your fallen loved one, for their sacrifice will not be forgotten.

My deepest sympathy to your family. You are a true hero Officer Soctt and will never be forgotten for your dedicated service. I know what your father feels and what he will feel in the upcoming months. I know he is proud of you and presently is living in a nightmare that re occurs every day for him. There are no magic words I can offer to help heal all the broken hearts left behind except that you will never be forgotten by those that care about you and love you. Keep watch over your family and wrap your wings around them to help ease their grief. You are not forgotten.
