Officer Scott,

As the mother of a police officer, it is with humble gratitude that I extend my thanks to you for doing your utmost to keep the citizens safe. It is with a heavy heart that I can not personally deliver these thanks. In every mothers heart there is a candle that burn for her son. In mine there will be another that will burn in memory and appreciation for you.

Earl Scott took a couple DUI turnovers for me in '01 and '02, and we covered each other a few times on car stops. I can't come up with what to say right now, but will remember him as a good guy and fun to work with. He always was smiling and obviously loved his job. My thoughts go out to our CHP brothers and sisters - this has been a tough year.
