Reflections for Deputy Sheriff Ryan Christopher Seguin
There's an officer down
The blue line has run red
One of BSO's finest
Has been sadly pronounced dead
The news was there fast
But they released no name
So many emotions at once
Confusion, anger and pain
And then the worst hit
It wasn't just someone I knew
You were my friend Ryan
And I will never forget you
The confusion has set in
It simply can not be true
It was only five days
Since I last talked to you
God has called you home Ryan
We are sad and yet proud
Rest in peace brother
We've got the watch now
The blue line has run red
And we all stand side by side
To honor your memory
Until the end of all time.

Somebody killed a Policeman today,
and a part of America died.
A piece of our country he swore to protect,
will be buried with him at his side.
The suspect that shot him will stand up in court,
with counsel demanding his rights.
While a young widowed mother must work for her kids,
and spend many long, lonely nights.
The beat that he walked was a battle field too,
just as if he'd gone off to war.
Though the flag of our nation won't fly at half mast,
to his name they will add a gold star.
Yes, somebody killed a policeman today,
in your hometown or in mine.
While we slept in comfort behind our locked doors,
a cop put his life on the line.
Now his ghost walks a beat on a dark city street,
and he stands at each rookies side.
He answered the call, of himself gave his all,
And A Part Of America Died.
"Blessed are the peacemakers for they will be called the sons of God" Rest in Peace Brother.

Ryan will be sorely missed. I have known him since he joined BSO and was assigned to the Weston district. Ryan aspired to be one thing, the best police officer that he could be. Ryan was a great person, loved to chat about anything, and you could really tell his enthusiam about his job.
Ryan is now is a better place and will be watching over all of us as he did when he was with us.
It was a true honor and privelege to have known and served with Ryan. My prayers and sympathies go out to all of Ryan's family and friends.

Ryan,
I only knew you as we would meet from time to time as one would back up the other on traffic stops when in the area. I thank you for looking out for me, and only wish that I could have done something to prevent this from happening. I can't explain the sick feeling I felt when the call came over the radio of a deputy down, and upon arriving on the scene to see that it was someone that I knew.. My deepest condolences to your family, friends, and to the rest of your extended family at the Broward Sheriffs Office. I am honored to have met you. Thank you for a JOB WELL DONE.

Lord,
He was yours to give,
and yours to call home,
please stand by his brothers,
so they don't feel alone,
dry the tears of his family,
so they clearly see:
that he gave his all,
so all could have peace.
Blessed are they,
the children of God,
with heavy hearts,
and honor - they trod,
to pay their respects,
to give their salute,
and to ask for your mercy,
on heroes in Blue.
Amen.
Ryan, rest easy brother, we have the watch.
