Reflections for Deputy Sheriff Ryan Christopher Seguin
Ryan,
As I sit here in my patrol car during a detail, I keep looking down at my star in disbelief seeing yet again a black band covering it in memory of you. I can't help but shed a tear. I am truly sorry that you have been taken from us so soon but rest assure that we will continue the battle down here knowing that you'll be watching over us. Your father was a great inspiration to me as I know he was to you during our all to brief conversations.
GOD SPEED RYAN!!!

For Ryan and Amanda
I feel like I cant take the pain
Much more before I break
I close my eyes and turn away
Before you even start to fade
There's nothing more for me to love
Beneath the ashes of the day
There's nothing more for me here now
Under the shallow of the grave
Like an angel you keep me holding on
Like an angel you keep me holding on
I see you move in the candle's light
Making shadows on the wall
I hear you breathe in the darkest night
And I know that I wont fall
I make believe that you wont leave
When they cast their wicked stones
And if you walk in broken dreams
Know that you wont walk alone
Like an angel you keep me holding on
like an angel you keep me holding on
Cry, no tears between you and I
I will try and I will find
And I will work my way back to you
I, breathe better with you by my side
No need to hide, when you smile
No need to push the pain down inside
For you and I
I find that there's a better me
Waiting deep down inside of you
I find that there's no need to bleed
Now that your here to follow me through
Cry, no tears between you and I
I will try and I will find
And I will work my way back to you
I, breathe better with you by my side
No need to hide, when you smile
No need to push the pain down inside
For you and I

Ryan,
Although we work for different agencies, I had the opportunity to meet you on various occasions when I checked out with you as a back up on my way to and from work. One instance stands out in my mind like it was yesterday.
Within one hour of hurricane Wilma subsiding, you were on patrol in my neighborhood. You came to my door to see if my family or I needed any assistance. You informed me that you saw my marked patrol car in my driveway and thought you would help another officer, knowing I probably would be going into work soon. Small incidents like this show that you put others before yourself in a time of crisis. Thanks!

Ryan, After 24 years on the job and having seen everthing imaginable, these past few days have been the saddest days of my career and some of saddest of my life. I did want to thank you again for taking your personal time to help me with my computer and loan me some coffee money only hours before this happened. Thank you for the times we had together, you were a genuinely good guy, a great friend and an outstanding cop. I promise to cherish the memories and think of you often, always with a smile on my face.
To his partner that night, know that Ryan thought you were a great cop also and loved working with you. Stay strong, we'll get through this together.
To his girlfriend, Ryan talked about you all the time, you were a true inspiration to him. He loved the time he got to spend with you.
To his parents, I can only hope my boys grow up with Ryan's qualities, priorities and sense of humor. You raised a perfect gentleman, please take pride in that and knowing that everyone that met him loved him.
P.S. Ryan, I'll repay you the coffee money when we meet again. Take care my friend.

Ryan, it is with great saddness that I write this reflection. I met you a few short years ago when you were assigned to BSO Dist. 8. I remember you being a cocky kid that could'nt wait to be a veteran. Then I watched as you quickly grew into a veteran by being a proactive cop. You had so much enthusiasim for this dangerous job. In your short time you made a difference in this community. I will always remember you. My familie's sympathy to your family. Wherever you now patrol the bad guys there are more nervous today. Till we meet again.

I remember Ryan when he first came to Weston/District 8 as a rookie several years ago .Very energetic, quick learner, and most of all, he had a love for what "we do". Ryan use to look forward to coming to work everyday and it always showed.
"Ryan, while your up there in heaven guarding the gates for us, you will be sadly missed by many"

If Heaven
If heaven was an hour, it would be twilight
When the fireflies start their dancin on the lawn
And suppers on the stove and mammas laughin
And everybodys workin day is done
If heaven was a town it would be my town
On a summer day in 1985
And everything I wanted was out there waiting
And everyone I loved was still alive
Chorus:
Dont cry a tear for me now baby
There comes a time we must all say goodbye
And if thats what heavens made of
You know I ain't afraid to die
If heaven was a pie it would be cherry
Cool and sweet and heavy on your tongue
And just one bite would satisfy your hunger
And thered always be enough for everyone
If heaven was a train it sure would be a fast one
That could take this weary traveler round the bend
And if heaven was a tear it'd be my last one
And youd be in my arms again
Chorus:
Dont cry a tear for me now baby
There comes a time we must all say goodbye
And if that's what heaven's made of
You know I ain't afraid to die
